U. S. Copyright law is federal.
A federal judge will not allow you to bring suit for infringement without presentation of a registration with the Library of Congress Register of Copyrights.
You won't get a chance to show your evidence of a sealed envelope or internet post. You won't get to court. A clever thief will register it themselves, giving them the legal edge.
Registration is the ONLY way to get a government document that will stand up in court, and the only way to GET to court.
U. S. copyright law is internationally recognized through the Berne Convention.
There will always be another song to be written. Someone will write it. Why not you? www.garyeandrews.com

"Defeatist Pessimists and Rose Colored Glasses Optimists are lonely companions, victims even. Both ideologies imply predestined outcomes, and therefore breed inactivity in its victims. Inaction is the only sure way to lose at anything in life. All positive action guarantees at least a fighting chance." -Brian Austin Whitney
