Well, I can't help with the medical side, but I have become a satisfied customer. It wasn't charity, either. The man turned in an EXCELLENT bass line that just totally grooved up my track. Turns out Mike actually knows how to play that thang. All I had to do was boost the click track up to 60 dB and he found the beat immediately!  Yes, I'm joking....it was only 40 dB.
