"How Do You Break Into The Music Business? by JD Stenzel November 30th 2006
You don't; you only get in after being invited by those whom you manage to impress. Opportunity will generally only happen if you are persistent enough, no matter how good you think your material is. The number of exceptions to this can probably be counted on one hand, and none come to mind.
You're competing with literally millions of other artists, each believing in his or her own material. If you want to make any progress in the music business, you must learn to accept that it will take an enormous amount of sheer determination, the willingness to hone your craft to perfection, more than a casual knowledge of how the music industry works and a good deal of luck. Rejection is a huge part of the music industry-learn to deal with it, and keep moving forward.
There are ways to maximize your chances, such as putting together a good promotional pack including a sample CD and short biographical description, contact information and photo (a "one sheet"), getting a local and Internet following, performing whenever possible in the best locations and festivals available, playing at writers' night and open mic showcases, compiling a catalogue of your media publicity and developing beneficial relationships with people in the music industry. "
hMMMM.......SAD you cannot even follow your own advice. I did google you...... way back after your first post....before I spoke of humility and respect. What I found IMO was a few average lyrics and several badly recorded average sounding songs. That is OK lots of people write and record badly average songs....but few think they are Gods gift to the music industry and burn bridges by rubbing people up the wrong way who may possibly want to help them improve. I do understand the conditions you claim to have. I work with people and have a son who have similar probs. If you give it a second go and try to be a bit more humble you may find we bury the hatchet and are here to help and befriend you.....I am prepared to forget the BAD first impression you gave us. It is up to you to work on the second impression.

"Do not endeavor to be the smartest kid in a dumb class. Instead, you are better off being the dumbest kid in the smartest class, where you will be challenged and you will learn. If you aren't growing, you are dying." -Brian Austin Whitney
