Hi Brian,

Again, I wanted to extend my condolences to you.

While I can't truly appreciate how difficult this loss must be -- as thankfully I've never been in your shoes -- I hope you can take comfort in the fact that you rose to the occasion, tucked the past where it's supposed to be (behind you) and put yourself out on that emotional limb to get to know the man who your father became.

Your open arms must have been such a haven for your him. And how proud he must have been to learn of your accomplishments!

I will surely be thinking of you during this time (especially since a friend from my medical board is in her last hours as well...)
