I see success as finishing something and having it turn out the way I wanted or better.
It also depends on expectations. if nothing but being the next American idol will do - chances are good that you wont be successful. setting possibly attainable goals and enjoying the ride works for me.
based on the above, I have been somewhat successful in music, but not so much in marriage. ah, well, perhaps an adjustment in expectations...
