This is a Progressive, 70s funk, 90's Hip Hip/Hop, political commentary on the banning of hemp for the sake of big tobacco and alcohol lobby's. So middle of the road stuff, politically speaking, but definitely a mild clash of musical cultures. Boomers will hear the 70's immediately, Gen X and Z perhaps eventually....or never.
I was raised in a lower middle class neighborhood in "Westside" San Antonio. (IYKYK). Could get rough at times but a nice even mix of Hispanic, Black and White culture.
These are not a.i. generated lyrics but a stream of urban consciousness from a dude who's whiter than new fallen snow. Add on the depressing headlines for hemp growers in Texas, well it inspired me to pen, find the sound I wanted and with SUNO, produce this accessible, yet practical and hopefully enjoyable 70's funk inspired, hemp protest and Hip Hop mashup, weed song by a white dude......tune.

"Back in the day" they typically would squeeze every drop of funk from any given funk song, the radio friendly 3 minutes and 30 seconds version or, if you had the album, the extended cut carried that groove quite a bit longer. I went with the latter but I certainly could cut a minute from that. Thanks for the listen. Ive got gospel, delta blues, new metal, post grunge, grunge, country, folk, singer songwriter....even Jazz songs in my "library". I dabble in every genre that I've embraced over the years. Even plan a write a tejano song, though my spanish is rudimentary at best. But growing up in San Antonio, it was everywhere and I connected. Thanks again.

I enjoyed the listen, with the mix of style and genres, and the use of language w touches of slang. A laid back go w the flow roll. Amazing what can be done w AI.
