This week was fairly predictable again.

1. Melinda: She was technically 100% perfect. I doubt any level pro vocalist could perform under that much pressure week after week and be so meticulously perfect. She's clearly the most polished talent AI has ever found.

2. Jordin: She's just a hair behind Melinda. That's mostly because she does miss notes now and then. But her raw charisma is better than Melinda's controlled perfection and I think she may pull it out in the end.

The rest are now just waiting for their turn to go home:

3. Lakisha: She's way way way below the first two. She's got definite limits to her voice, tends to shout instead of sing, and has a weird vocal limit that she does a good job not exposing too much. If the others are 10's, she's a strong 7.

4. Blake: He jumped the shark this week. It was the worst performance and his worst performance. He got bogus props from the judges. I think they just couldn't stand to really rip someone singign Imagine. He's been the king of under-achieving and he may have blown his shot to sneak up at the end and win it. Now he'll be vying for 3rd place. He's going to need to return to the magic of his performaces in the pre-final rounds to do so.

5. Phil: Phil actually had performed well the last two weeks. He's been in the top 3 for sure. But he's also had some horrendously bad performances and has locked himself into an "also ran" for early on.

6. Chris R: Hopefully this will be the end of the trail for Chris. He's weak on all levels. Time to send his nasally, wimpy butt home.

It's all just a lame build to the top two showdown.
