Hi,
I have been away from the list for a little bit and I just got through reading all the comments on this issue.
I don't play in the Tampa Bay/St Pete area that much but the problems with club owners are everywhere and down here in the new fronteer it is the same old story. Coming to the meetings and listening and watching other writers has helped me alot. The cross pollenation between the artists, pro and amateur, within this club is an amazing thing to watch. I have always said that if you go to a jam and don't learn something then you aren't paying attention.
With that said it takes about $25 in gas, more or less, for to make it up to the meetings now. I have NO PROBLEM with throwing in a few bucks to pacify a club owner so we can get together. If we go ahead with the idea of kicking in a few bucks to grease the wheels then I would like evey now and then having a guest speaker of some kind. Now I'm not saying that you HAVE to have some kind of special guest EACH and EVERY meeting. Please don't forget that wherever we go we bring along live original music in many many forms. We are a very unique and diverse group of people. This JPF chapter is one hell of a Traveling Road Show.
