Did anyone forget to mention Stanley Clarke? I thought he was awesome on his performances with Chick Corea and a a soloist. Also, what about John Paul Jones of Led Zep? I give my nod to McCartney and Jack Bruce, which if it wasn't for his influece I would not have still the third bass i've ever owned, a 60's edition of the Gibson EB-0, still in very decent playing condition and not for sale!
