how to recognize a shark: #1 - they have "nashville" in their name #2 - they say an "Artist" like you has potential but needs exposure #3 - they ask you for money Just think, you give them 400 CDs - which by the way, with just mastering and duplication would cost you about $800 or more, then you give them $3500... your investment is $4300... and theirs is? all they are doing is mailing your CD to some radio station somewhere - how will you ever know it was done? how will you know you got played? how will you know your CDs aren't sitting in the Nashville dump? Personally, if I had 400 CDs, I'd be performing live & selling, have it on CD Baby & be marketing, using Indie Bible & other resources to get legitimate radio play, etc. anyway, you did right to ask. I found JPF because I asked about some company that had approached me - and I was directed to a thread here. Thanks Brian for this awesome resource! cheers H-bird ![[Linked Image]](http://www.justplainfolks.org/ubb/smile.gif) ------------------ Vikki Flawith, Canadian Singer/Songwriter & Voice Teacher This bird sings at: www.vikkiflawith.com Vikki on MySpace UnCommon Sense - a Wise Bird's Blog The Shy Singer-Songwriter's Blog

"Do not endeavor to be the smartest kid in a dumb class. Instead, you are better off being the dumbest kid in the smartest class, where you will be challenged and you will learn. If you aren't growing, you are dying." -Brian Austin Whitney
