Yes, Marty actually wrote that. What happened to that guy? Where did he do to?
Good Saturday morning...and ...You’re not asking the right question.
Your question is predictably Rob-centric.
It basically sets the stage with you and me both wearing our goody-two-shoes, and then for some unknown reason I took mine off and “fell from (your) grace.”
Now you're asking me to tell you what went wrong inside of my world that caused this fall.
Citing specific ignition points would be an unending fool’s errand.
The right question is…
Why did the relationship devolve?
The answer is divisive actions in a divisive atmosphere.
For the sake of illustration, similar to you, I will depict a circumstance that contains arbitrary characters who bear no connection to any actual person.
Imagine that there is a songwriting forum called “Dis-Chord.com,” whose mission statement is dedicated to songwriting.
(A play on “This chord” that sounds like “Discord.”)
First, here is an axiom that every child has heard.
“If you want to start an argument, bring up and persist in talking about either religion or politics”.
Why This Axiom Persists (from Gemini)
The logic behind this "unholy trinity" of topics (Religion, Politics, and Money) is rooted in the preservation of social harmony. Here is why they are often cited as the primary ingredients for discord:
Identity vs. Opinion: Unlike discussing the weather or a movie, religion and politics are often tied to a person's core identity and moral framework. Attacking an idea can feel like a personal attack.
The Absence of Common Ground: These topics often rely on faith or subjective values rather than empirical data, making "winning" an argument nearly impossible.
Emotional Volatility: Discussion in these areas tends to trigger the amygdala (the brain's emotional center) rather than the prefrontal cortex (the rational center), leading to heat instead of light. Now, imagine a personality named Rachel and another named Moe.
Rachel wants the world (and Rachel) to believe that she is always wearing her goody-two-shoes.
Rachel wants to be one of the “cool kids” who is always “where the action is” so she collaborates on songs and interacts with others on the basis of songwriting.
Which is good and productive.
But Rachel also presents herself as (GER), a foreign citizen of Germany
Rachel says that she has dual citizenship in the US, but on one occasion said that if that is ever questioned, she might not be able to prove up her US citizenship.
All of that is Rachel’s business and concern, not mine.
But then Rachel comes to Dis-Chord.com, a songwriting site and starts incessantly bashing a duly elected president that a fellow named Marty (and others) voted for.
This guarantees ill will and destruction of good will.
But Rachel must vent…She must get the word out about the American president that she hates, and a songwriting platform (?) must serve that purpose for Rachel.
Marty argues with Rachel about it and finally burns off of Dis-Chord.com and joins another site which on-the-face states that it restricts arguing about off-topics such as politics, except in a dedicated section that Marty is able to de-link from his membership page. Marty de-links those discussions.
Marty is getting along fine at this site and liking it….well enough.
Someone even comments that one of Marty’s songs may possibly be the best song ever posted on that site.
But Rachel is also a member of that site and Rachel has a plan.
Rachel posts a clear political rant naming the American president by name, once again bashing the American president in the form of a song. Marty publicly objects to a violation of stated rules, without apology, and a bevy of Trump hating non-US citizens, ban Marty from that site.
C’est la vie. It wasn’t a fit and no great loss.
Simultaneously with posting the political rant veiled as a song, Rachel sends Marty a bizarre email, out of the blue, after months of discord.
This email encourages Marty to re-ignite and continue an argument with a third party named Dom on Dis-Chord.com.
Marty thinks to himself..."WTF for? And why would this dweeb try to incite this?
Link to email…
https://drive.google.com/drive/u/2/folders/1IfRrA48KbEt1SPgxFAcYbiDMG0mvPe91Marty responds that he has no interest in that.
Rachel persists with what becomes harassing emails.
Marty tells her that he doesn’t want to be bothered any further, that he is out having a drink and he doesn’t care. Rachel persists with ankle-biting harassment until Marty quits responding at all.
And now Rachel thinks that she has got the formula.
Veil political rants as songs on Dis-Chord.
Unilaterally declare their message as out-of-bounds for comment or criticism.
Marty declares bull-sh*t on Rachel’s restrictions and refuses to be barred from commenting on these political rants. That is not the freedom-of-speech set-up at Dis-Chord.com.
Rachels’ tactic turns to…”oh deary me, everything was so wonderful, then it turned so sour. Please Marty, tell me what happened.”
Easy and clear. Stated in blue above.
In this imaginary universe where any resemblance to actual persons is purely coincidental, Marty tells Rachel to give it up. If she is going to post political rants in the form of songs, fairy tales or biblical verses, Marty will critique them as he sees them, if and until Dis-Chord.com bans him.
There is one bit of good news.
Rachel had a fellow non-US citizen, Trump basher named Aohn.
Aohn finally realized that his ranting was destructive to the primary goal of the site, and that he was “pissing in his own punch bowl.”
He may even realized that carrying this mission out on a song site was pointless and pathetic.
He stopped, but Rachel can’t stop.
Again, the answer to your inquiry is in blue lettering above.

And then there is Moe. Moe is an internet prophet who is a mash-up of end-times evangelizing and vile insults. Moe is pathetic and disgusting.
Moe seems to sit at home all his days, collecting disabilities and trolling people on the internet with insults. Moe is given free-rein at Dis-Chord.com.
However Moe has served a good purpose for me.
I have tried to imagine myself through the eyes of a person standing on the grounds of the US Capitol on J6 amongst an amped up flash-crowd. Then, ascending the stairs and finding myself on a platform of broken doors, broken windows and shattered glass,
And then I choose to walk across that destruction and enter the US Capitol, trespassing through hallways and official offices.
I couldn’t imagine what kind of mentality could be stupid enough to do that.
Moe has made that very clear.
I'm sorry John.
That is all that I have time to clear up today.
I'll get back to your comments in an upcoming breakfast meeting.
