I have had people perform in my basement who have been on tour around the world playing massive stadiums as part of famous bands for decades. There are tons of people like this. I will mention 4 awesome artists: Cindy Alexander who tours with The Bacon Brothers every year for 2 decades. Ed Toth who was part of Vertical Horizon who had the #1 song in the world and opened the 30th anniversary show at Woodstock and subsequently he joined the Doobie Brothers who just now are concluding their careers. Next is Marc VonEm who toured (and still does) with Rob Thomas around the world for nearly 2 decades, sometimes opening, but mostly just being part of the band, playing guitar and singing. Lastly is Bob Malone who tours the world on his own but more notably has toured as John Fogerty's keyboard player for about 15-18 years. They just went in the studio for a new album. These people have all played many dozens of our JPF shows around the country for the past 30 years and also have played at my house as well. It is kind of surreal to see them at major venues with 70K+ at arena shows. I saw Bob play Radio City Music Hall one year and got to hang backstage with all world drummer Kenny Aronoff and briefly with John Fogerty. They are all just regular people. Many do benefits to help fellow artists in trouble. None of they hang with Springsteen, but then BS isn't the end all for most people like he is for some here. I had backstage passes to hang with the E Street Band the year Bruce toured "Born in the USA" and gave them away. He just never appealed to me. He was playing the Hoosier Dome (where the Colts played). They have since built a new stadium.
