Okay. Not a strategy, then. Let's call it a plan. An out. A golden parachute. Sounds like you think that (a) he was washed up and (b) he took a knee for self-agrandizement, not for principle. Has he said anything that suggests that? Does he have a prior history of naked opportunism that supports your theory? Do people generally agree that he was about to get fired? I've never heard that.
