Slavery wasn't abolished in Canada until 1833, when it was outlawed in the entire British empire.

Only 32 years later, 620,000 Americans died to abolish slavery.

Canadians merely obeyed the edict of their sovereign, William IV. Americans actually laid down their lives for abolition.
