I saved a lot of money yesterday. My A/C broke down during the hottest time of the year. The repairman was too busy to work on it, so after I gave him the symptoms over the phone, he told me it was probably a bad capacitor and told me how to replace it myself. I took the old one out, brought it to his shop and he matched it up with a used one that he had on hand. Charged me $15. I took it home and installed it. The A/C runs like new. Just a service call would've been at least $70 and another $70 for the part. It only took me about two hours of labor but it was worth it.
