That could very well be. I know it shorted out where I put the patch cord in to the pickups yet I still heard a faint airy noise. I still have the complete board. There is a music shop where I live but would have to spend a lot of money to get this guitar serviced. More then many may think it is worth.
Never thought of getting it serviced with Fender parts.
I really want to hang on to this baby.
