This one sounds great -- super recording. This song a week is working working out great for you. ... and for us, the listeners, too! Ha, ha -- this could be a "boy band" hit as well as a singer/songwriter tune. Super excellent.
I would work on cutting a minute from this tune, though -- no real reason to go on for 4:38.

Hey man, this was right down my alley musically, and I really enjoyed it. I agree the recording was very well done, and I like the laid back nature of it, with the shakers in the background etc. I did think that it started to drag on a little bit towards the end, but overall I thoroughly enjoyed the listen. Good work man

Love the song. If you are trimming, maybe the intro as well. We look forward to your next song!

Charles,
This is fantastic stuff..I loved it and now I am worried that I am missing songs...maybe we need a check-off list so that I don't miss anything...maybe a compilation cd at the end...LOL, this was a wonderful song.

I really like this Mac! As I listened I imagined it playing on a movie soundtrack.

Somebody said it reminded them of Gerry Rafferty. I can hear that. Nice work.

I like the feel of this...it’s snappy and catchy. Not sure I understand line 2 of V1, “don’t argue with the voice inside”...as I’m trying to match that to the bridge’s voice. I generally tend to think of an inner voice as one of wisdom or intuition...so the idea that it’s not tough confuses me...lol. I get it more if I sub in “doubt” or “insecurity”...no one else was confused, so this is just me. The difficulty in trying to change one’s ways comes thru.
I like the overall message. Sounds good too.

Yo Mac. Excellent recording and sounds. Love your voice and guitar rhythm--cool stuff. This song to me grabs you with the melody and beat first--which I think is a good thing. Lyicists will try and understand the lyrics and there may be some ambiguity in their or your intended expressions or feelings. That's ok, as long as one is fairly consistant with their "abstract" writing in which you are. Did we ever figure out "really" what some of the Beatle's songs were saying? There are many artists that have lyrics that are shallow yet deep at the same time--just another art form thank goodness so that all of our music and lyrics don't follow the same itinerary! Super Job, love it.

What?! Crazy-cool, man. I mean really. Top of the board right now on quality. Are you doing this at home? I need a pm with an equipment list because I cannot for the life of me get that clean edge on anything! Great writing here. Over 4:30 tho...err, I know you're going to shave some time off and I guess having a consistent gripe is super beneficial. I'm curious to see what comes out after you edit for time though as far as the 'what could be better now' stuff. Don't change too much!!!

I have music for all of my songs and they vary from rock to country to folk and everywhere in between. (except rap)

Sounds great. I thought the "voice inside" in the first verse was something to listen to and be guided by, but then in the bridge you paint it as a negative thing. Although I like the third verse (a lot), I wasn't really ready to hear another verse at that point in the song. I vote (not that I really have one) that you keep the first and third verses, move the third verse into the second position, and then build a bridge out of parts of the second verse.

Great job! Nice lyric. I really like the harmonic depth in the guitars, but I also loved the way the chorus dropped down to something simple and catchy. Is this all in standard tuning? I discovered that when I got into odd tunings, a whole new set of ideas came in to play as it took me out of my comfort zone. I've been playing with 3 or 4 of them (DADGAD being the fave) and leaning towards adventurous voicing and it has really been inspiring. Now, if I can just FINISH some of these tunes..... Anyway, with your harmonic sense, I would love to hear what you would do with drop tunings. Just a thought.....

Also, I may be in the minority here, but I think when you cut the real deal you should actually slow it down a bit. Yes, I know it's a bit long already, but some minor editing can solve that.
You have a very hooky chorus, and I think a rhythm section could really dig into the pocket if it were a little more relaxed.
Look forward to hearing more from you. - T
