Hey, good to see you back Been out myself for a month or so..... Andy did a great job on this. You too - this is catchy. A sing-along chorus can't be a bad thing in a praise song Scott

Louis. I thought you died or something worse you've been away so long. I've missed you and your songs. This doesn't disappoint.

I liked this song the other way, but Andy has really added an excellent musical backing track. Both versions are just fine and dandy to me. This one has a real polished feel to it.

Thanks for taking a listen guys and gals. I love everything that Louis writes so when he hired me to write the backing track I jumped at the chance. I love how this song flows and how Louis sings it. I remember first hearing Louis singing on his track Tire swing, a couple of years ago, and I got hooked and I'm still a big fan.
Thanks Louis for trusting me with your track.

Hi Glyn, thanks, I'm ok, just haven't had the inspiration to write, and I've been swamped, sold the house, moved, all that kindof stuff. Thanks Stevie, yep it's been a while. Yep this ones more polished Kevin, I like the other too, but this ones got me tapping my toes I knew you could do it Andy

Hey Andy and Louis,
I like how this version starts out, and my only complaint is it sounds like (Louis) you back off the mic, the line before the second chorus, and only get back up to the initial level of the first verse in the very last chorus. Because Andy's drums had kicked in, by the second chorus, the overall effect is that your voice sits back in the mix, a little too far, for my ears. This tends to make your singing sound tentative, instead of vulnerable.
So the antidote, imho, is to maintain "close micing" throughout the entire vocal, and for Andy to insure that your voice stays on top of the mix, throughout.
Louis, the vulnerability in your voice is an asset. It does sound, to me, though, like your mind wanders off, in the middle of the song, like I mention, and I am thinking/hoping that if the vocal is kept front and center, that you have a winning production here.
Mike

Thanks Mike, yeah my mind does tend to wander, lol. I do back off the mic or turn my head to the side sometimes, depending on what I'm hearing in the headphones, probably a bad habit. We could probably fix it by highlighting and boosting the volume on just the voc track in those places, if Andy wants to mess with it. Thanks again for your critical hearing, I hadn't even noticed.

Great song guys! It is beautiful! The vocals are pleasant and Andy's music really adds to to it. It's good to hear more from you both again. Nice collab!

When you are a fan of all of the people involved...how can it be bad?? I am always taken away by that wonderful voice that Louis has, the lyric is so nice and love Andy's music...he could play chopsticks and I'd be a fan and buying his cd....sigh...
So very happy to have Louis back on JPF!!!

Hi Louis,
I checked out your song, nicely written and the music was just right as was the melody and the praise/worship lyrics worked well. The only suggestion I have as a demo would be to give the vocals another pass after the 2 minute mark as it seemed you lost the strength of the vocal control you had earlier in the song a bit which in truth needed to really finish strongest at that point (even a light backing vocal would be really welcomed there as well). Overall, nice write.

Thanks Brian, yep I haven't been singing much lately. I should probably blow the pipes out some more. I'll have to holler back at Andy

Louis I've just sent you over the master file with no vocals. So if you ever feel like doing another version use this as your guide and then send me the vocal track and I'll re-mix it.

What a wonderful collaboration, you two. This is gorgeous. Louis, I love the honesty of your vocals, and the understated - hence more sincere - emotion in the delivery. Donna

I'm from a small town in Ohio ... and this song took me right back to my hometown ... felt like home ... there was a tenderness about it ... because I sang in gospel choirs in high school and college i could easily hear a choir backing you on the choruses ... this song is absolutely beautiful! great work ...really great work

A natural Country/ Praise gem guys! Yeah, another take on the vocal - though the vocal has the perfect vibe for this track (makes it real). Best, John

Best, John Cheers John and thanks for taking a listen to Louis's track. He has done another vocal and it sounds even better than this one but it still keep that great real feel that we all love. Thanks guys I'm sure Louis is over the moon on how well his track has been received.

Hi Louis,
Absolutely brilliant! You have a great piece of work here. I second motion what Brian said about re-doing the vocals. I can also "hear" a choir in the background. Great job!
