Hi Folks,
I realized that once again I have neglected my Blog here! I post a lot on the boards and simply forget to post here as well. It's also easier to post when you are touring or doing the music awards etc. because there's so much going on. Right now I am spending most of my time reinventing the music awards, how we might redo a website in the days where no one uses websites much anymore and how to incorporate things like Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin and the vast array of others without having every moment of every day consumed by them. Even my minimal activity on FB sucks up way too much time already.
How do you guys cope?
Brian

Brian,
You have to say "no" a lot! Especially to the thousands of sites that want you to join so they can try to sell your stuff and keep a percentage.
There are applications that will automatically share your blogs to all of your sites of interest so you don't have to go to each one and do it manually. Reverbnation is one of those.....a blog update on Reverbnation for instance can be automatically posted on Facebook and Twitter and your own blog page.

I cope with being too busy with several aspects of my daily life taking up the time that would have before had me going to those sites. My daughter keeps me up on some things, and posts on FB whatever new project I am working on, being she is a proud daughter of her perfect dad! LOL. She is the one addicted to it all! And she has two young boys, a near full time job and a photography hobby! HOW she does it all I have NO idea. I think her phone is how she writes on FB. ??? Her phone??? I work with Sub four nights a week, (90 miles away), and have online work for songwriters, doing their demos on my keys and guitar when needed, if they don;t provide their guitar track that is usable. I must have a dumb phone then. I also do yard work for my sister and our house, and see my mom in her nursing home. (She's 93 and a half)! A half is a lot, just like when a baby or toddler. I also have to rest my ears and brain, form the hyperacusis can bring on some freaky sensations, getting signals mixed up as to sounds and motion. Rest means not able to even do this typing or other such activities on other sites. *That is why I do not do FB or twitter, ect. No good time to do that. With now working those four nights with the great Sub and the great Mike Appel, (Springsteen's producer and manager in those formidable years), and th drives there and back, getting in around 4 to 5:30 am,,,there's just no way to dive into the FB thing. I see how people get addicted to it, and hAVE to post when taking a crap,,,,so that does not interest me at all! Being I am now behind the scenes of a pro project, I also don't need to promote my songs any longer. They are in the past anyhow,,,even the new ones! LOL So, it;s working that takes u my time,a nd I LOVE it and the challenges it brings at every session. "On the fly do it or not" type of thing. NO rehearsals, no getting songs a day before even. Just show up and be ready to be creative, good and adjustable, and please one of the greatest producers of rock history, for the thoughts he has been working on during the days off between out sessions. For me to be allowed to stay on the team, that takes focus and energy of course, so I choose to use all my time in as smart of a way as possible. Rest at the right times, and all the other things I mentioned in the others. Knowing me, I can and will do anything I set out to do, regardless of the perfect goal thing, which I do not have one. I just LOVE the process of EVERYTHING! Even eating, and writing to you here and now! (In the moment, every moment, as best as I can). I expect to get the job done, and act as if it's a given. The rest is listening and learning during any process. That also takes time and focus. I hope that all makes sense. If i had time to do the FB and Twitter thing, I would not be doing ALL I love to do! Which reminds me, I have to cut our lawn soon,,,,with thick earplugs! THAT is how I cope with FB and Twitter! By doing things! LOL
