Hi Folks.

My station is now up and running.

It will be primarily country demos, with some small diversions for a bit of variety.

CountryDemoRadio

If you have any finished demo tracks for airplay, send them to me.

Airplay

Gospel, Christian, Latin and anything you feel is good quality and listeners will enjoy.

Also a sprinkling of not so country will be played.

Its a whole new adventure.

------------------------------------------------------
IMPORTANT:

I will need the following information with EACH track.

Singers name…..

Writers name ie copyright owner/s

copyright year

Genre'

I will assume that it’s country, unless otherwise told. So if you feels it’s Gospel or Jazz please say so.

That’s it folks.

-----------------------------------------------------

I will be adding to this topic as things progress.

God Bless Roy and Helen

Sounds Great to me, Brother Roy!

For UN-Computer-Savvy Folks like myself, a snail addy to mail CDs to would be a great boon. I emailed (was Colt his name?) at the other station posted here..3 days ago..& got no answer back w/ a snail addy..so..looks like we don't connect there.

So..when you're up-&-running, hope you'll consider less-tech-inclined creators too.

At my end, we've finally sent off for a tutorial DVD for the TASCAM Digital Recording rig that's sat here nearly a year..so I'll eventually arrive, kicking & screaming, at the Digital Era.

Thanks for your Help & Challenges in-the-Meanwhile, Amigo!
Best Wishes & a Big Guy-Hug,
Stan

Of course Stan. I will give you the snail address as soon as I am a bit along. Then I will do the business for you.

I will need information at that time, on track name, Artist, copyright info etc. This information has to be embedded into the track, one by one, if it isn't there already.

I have found a niffty little program to do it.

I think he maybe underestimated the work involved getting it set up and running smoothly.

I did do a bit of searching, and the only Colt Chambers I found in Nashville, is a 15 year old up and coming country singer.

If it is him who set it up then well done I say, but a lot for a 15 year old to take on, I would have thought.

Loads of distracting things to do each day.

I think his submission address is switched off.

Anyway please follow this thread as I move forward.

God Bless Roy and Helen

When setting up a radio station on the net, would you have to get a license from Sound Exchange? I'd check that out first to be on the safe side. Good luck with it though.

I sent my songs email to 2 different links..the
FRC link and the other was ChadChambers.com....it wasn't Colt...maybe that's what I did wrong, but that's what the one link said..was Chad...and I've been trying to send emails to both the links since Sunday/Monday nights with a notice from Yahoo mailer saying my emails were rejected....

but this sounds great Roy, thanks glyn

As I am only going to play my own material Everett and demo songs with permission, then I don't see a problem.

Tracks can be removed real easy at any time, should it be needed.

As for the mainstream music that is available to be played on the site, I would guess that the site owners are paying the various fees.

And it is playing only, not downloads.

Anyway, once I am up, I would love some of your tracks for play, should you want to.

Thanks for joining the topic

God Bless Roy and Helen

No Glynda. They have switched the email address off.

But as soon as I am up and running, I will add the (5) songs from the list that you sent me, if that is ok

Roy:

What a nice gesture. Please keep us posted about your progress. I'd enjoy putting a few songs up with your permission... and, naturally, I'd be happy to waive rights (airplay) so you could play them without incurring the wrath of the RIAA... LOL!

Dave

Hi Roy:

I clicked on the link you provided and was pleasantly surprised. Very nice work in such a short time. Let us know when you are ready for some "country originals" and I suspect your "mail box" will be overflowing.

As a side note, do you have a "game plan" for getting the word out to A&R departments about your new site, it's purpose, etc.?
To me, getting your message to those who "count" in the music biz will be the most difficult part. I'm assuming you are targeting a broad cross section including: new artists, established artists, movie companies, labels, publishers and producers.

Have you created a "funding path" for all the work this is gonna involve? I would encourage you to consider becoming a "niche market" music library where you might take a small percentage if anyone licenses a song or wants to do a cover, etc.

Anything you are able to share with us will provide even more incentive for us to submit songs.

Regards and congratulations,

Dave Rice

Hi Dave.

All that stuff is what you have a team for…

So far I have Helen as team leader.

Seriously, I put the radio on line and will get the website up and running and run it.

I will add the keywords etc and hope that others will spread the word.

I have to be honest and say that I did it to promote my songs and everyone else who goes into the airplay is a bonus for them, and also makes the radio more interesting than just listening to my songs all the time lol.

It’s works for everyone.

I want nothing at all, ever.

That’s my benefit as well. lol

Maybe others will add links to the station on their sites or mention in on facebook or something.

Its early days and a lot to do yet.

I can’t offer any incentive at all, except airplay. I have I hope made the station and when I finish the website attractive for the viewer and listener.

You can send me your tracks anytime Dave for inclusion.

God Bless Roy and Helen

Thanks, Roy (and Helen):

I attempted to click site-links and they are not working yet... so, as you mentioned... here comes an e-mail with song and data for starters. I'll make it a practice to never send more than one song to prevent uploading/downloading nightmares... LOL!

Thanks again for the opportunity.

Roy,

I will send you some tracks and appreciate all your info on radio and videos, etc.

I am interested to know if the station operator gets statistics on how many people are listening, etc.?

Roy, That's a nice service you're providing for the JPF crew and others. The playlist sounds good to me! I'll bookmark the site and listen from time to time.

On the main website, I will put videos as well, and yours will have pride of place, (Oh-Appalachia) if that's ok.

I want that track on airplay, if thats ok. I love it.

And Yep, I can see how many are listening and how many have listened.

They operate a system where those that get the most listens move up the ladder until they become a featured station.

Gets a spot on their home page.

God Bless Roy and Helen

Roy,

I sent an email to your "Roy and Helen" address -- was that the wrong place?

If anyone hears jingles sound at the wrong time then I appologise.

Vic kindly did some for me and I am learning how to use them

thanks so much Vic

also a couple of time the song playing has jumped to the next track half way through.Could be a gremlin

I will try to find out why.

Roy:

Early this morning, I finally heard the song I sent you being played. The site's sound is good and I was pleased with the overall way your site works. If I understand krykey... they will keep "score" of how your site works versus others working under their software umbrella... and award points or some other promotional items to those sites deemed most popular or successful. Let's hope your site becomes one of those.

As you figure out how we can help to assure success for you (and ultimately for us... lots of "airplay") please keep us informed.

I'll be sending you a couple more today.

Regards and thanks again,

Dave

Hi Dave and thanks for coming back

WOW the work that's involved , getting this running.

To raise in the ranks and get more and more listeners, it just needs people to click on to Country Demo Radio

http://www.krykey.com/Radio/PRSPage.aspx?id=2389 and listen, or turn it down for background music. OR just don't listen lol.

I have 61 tracks playing now, and need more.

Country, bluegrass, a few ballads, some Gospel, some Christian, some Latin etc etc.

Obviously I will have to keep a certain level of music and up to now its been great.

I want to make it an interesting station to listen to.

I am thinking of doing some 1 hour slots of just 1 type at regular times each week.

Say 1 hour of bluegrass, 1 hour of traditional. 1 Hour of Gospel. Suggestions are welcome.

Input will help and also getting the tracks as well.

So maybe others will dust of those tracks that don't get exposure. you know we all have some that we know are great...

Lets get them playing and then maybe the people will come lol

God Bless Roy and Helen

PS - have you put the radio link in other forums ?

I think I'm a member of the British Country Music website, but can't remember the login. Anyways, it's here.... http://www.countrymusic.org.uk/community/

Maybe someone could write a short promo, and you could place it on a few sites around the internet.

Tag ? "Country Demo Radio" - The best bits that got lost.

Or something like that...... grin

Thanks for doing this Roy, it's sounding great. Make your own luck, I say.

cheers, niteshift

Now that's Teamwork:

Thanks Shifty and Ben for "pitchin' in" and giving this generous site a chance at being located and "listened to" across the globe via Google and other prominent search engines.

Roy, you are one special guy in my books. That's what I love about JPF... so many folks here willing to pitch in and lend a hand. Great work, guys and gals. I'm really enjoying hearing songs I've never heard before from folks I get to "rub elbows with" here at JPF on the net!

I'm wondering if folks are getting permission from the demo players and singers before submitting their songs to you. Demos are often recorded with the understanding that they are for pitching within the industry, and not for other purposes.
I sought permission from demo singer Tim Buppert to have one of mine that he sang played on internet radio. I stressed the fact that I would receive no monetary compensation. The demo was a couple of years old, so he asked me to email him an mp3 to help refresh his memory. Apparently, he was happy enough with the song (and his performance of it) because he gave me permission.
I have heard demos of absolutely terrible songs sung by recognizable voices at NSAI pitch nights. I'm sure those artists don't want those recordings circulating amongst the general public.

That's a good point to bring up. I read through the rules here, http://www.nashvillemusicians.org/index.php?pg=scales , and it is a little vague on radio, though. I can't find any mention of "radio" anywhere.
