Extra note: For those who already have their videos on youtube or myspace and who want to add them to this new site. I had 20 music videos on youtube and added them all to MT in about 1 hour. I have posted a way to do it in about 1 to 3 minutes per video in the video forum. ------ topic name ------------ Adding your youtube or myspace videos to new video site. ------------------------------ --------- original topic start ------------- I just uploaded my videos to a new video site.(for me anyways) Seems to be a real nice place for anyone who is interested in uploading. You can delete your content at any time and its quite fast for viewing. God Bless Roy and Helen http://musicianstogether.com/user_videos.php?user=roy_cooper

Hi. Just wanted to say a big thank you to Roy for the plug If anyone needs any help using the site or has any questions, please give me a shout - mark@musicianstogether.com Also - just to balance the books a little - I will be heartily recommending JPF to my members. It's a fantastic place and I feel that I have already really benefitted from being a member here, even though it's only been a week or so. Cheers Mark

what I love about this video site is that unlike youtube, they are sticking to music videos.
No shots of granny falling down the stairs, or baby crying for the first time. I hope that they can keep it that way.

Roy,
I like the layout of the videos, Visually better than YTube.
You seem to stumble on little gems all the time.
Sure all here appreciate you.
Again, great lyrics.
Petra

God Bless Roy and Helen We don't need grannies falling down the stairs for comedic effect Roy - not when there are videos of me singing on the site Seriously though, the site is, and will always be, just for independent musicians.

Hi again, Roy:
I just completed adding my first "home-brewed" video at MT. Mark had to provide a little guidance and alot of patience. I also had to install Firefox to insure proper handshake between platforms. Success! Hopefully, my next attempt at doing a video will include more bells and whistles... maybe even some live video in lieu of a bunch of still shots... LOL!
By the way, Microsoft's Windows Movie Maker was used to create the video. It takes a little time to catch on to all the facets of it... but can be muddled through in an hour or two for a three and a half minute flic.
See ya there,
Dave

Good Mornin' Petra:
Sorry, didn't mean to ignore your requests... I've been up to my ears in things... trying to get my video to be accepted at MT. It appeared to have been a problem with my internet browser. Internet Explorer does not work well with MT... so I had to download Mozilla Firefox and use it to complete the upload of my song and very amateurish video there. Mark was very helpful. That poor guy probably gets less sleep than Brian.
I'm not sure why all my songs would be playing at MT... I only posted one... "Westminster Wedding." It was working fine when I left last night. Is it possible that you visited ShowCase and forgot to exit? There was a time when I felt like a Techie but with all the changes and new formats, etc., I feel pretty much like a klutz.
Thanks for the "heads up"... I'll try to check it out. If I've messed up Mark's site... he will banish me from his realm... LOL!

Dave,
Thanks for the reply. Yes I did go to Showcase, maybe that is it, didn't exit right. Went to Music Together afterwards.
Anyhow, all good, I got to hear your music as I surfed the forums. You have great talent for music composition. I will keep posted on your videos.
Take Care and don't forget us at the bottom when you break down the doors in Nashville.

Hi Petra:
Sorry for the delay. Today is Chess Club Day down at the "center" near the town square. Won 4, lost 1... drat!
Believe me, if I ever get my foot in the door at Twang Town it will be because some generous soul felt sorry for an old man and decided to record one of my little ditties... LOL!
I'll never forget all the fun I've had here at JPF... and a couple of arguments I managed to start with my smart mouth. Sorry, Lord... I'll try to do better in the future.
Now I've gotta get started making another boring video out of a bunch of still shots. Heck, I may take the old digital camera and do some shots of scenic Glen Rose Texas so folks will want to come here and do all the tourist things we have available. Ya can even go to the local doughnut shops early in the morning and watch the dough rise! Talk about entertaining... Wow!

Dave,
I think that is a good idea, snap shots of your town and use for video, places you go to or places that are famous there.
From Colin's post, he's gonna submit a song to Tourist Board in Florida.
You should do the same, send it Tourist Board in Texas, never know what can happen. We up here get Michigan tourist Board with ads, a surprise to me from this area, Virgina Beach, and Florida-Bigger, and so on.
Hey Just heard Janet Jackson coming to Hamilton, Yipee, saw her on Apprentice. Do you have a song you want me to pitch to her?
Anyways, Dave, will keep on top of your videos.
P.
Naw, I can't believe you start any argument here. You might start a LAUGHING FEST!!! And get us rolling on the floor from stomach pain LOL

What do you use for taking videos, your cell phone, or camera, or actual video recorder?
On website you can place Ytube on it. Though I wonder if the quality of my cell phone that takes video if a high enough quality?
Petra Well experts please let me know, I have a smart phone, Sony.

Petra:
At this point... I'm really not using actual video footage. Instead, I use Microsoft's Windows Video Softare to put together several still photographs or artwork saved as JPEG files. This sofware allows the music to play and I've been told by others that later versions than mine will allow putting lyrics between frames so they show up at strategic points during the playing of the song. This is not an ideal method but my objective is merely to get folks to listen to my song... so they might want to record a cover version. That way, I can get plugged into the income side of things... especially if they "hit a home run!"
I'm only doing the video thing because some websites are video oriented along with music. MT was my first venture and it worked even though I know it would never do well in Sheboygan... LOL! Still shots... unless they can be manipulated somehow to appear to be animated... are usually boring because most folks are used to seeing music videos on MTV, CMT and other sites of that ilk.
I don't even carry a cell phone. Although I love the concept, I hate spending my time answering calls and the texting part of the equation would drive me up the wall... or cause me to have a wreck while driving... LOL! If I go on an extended trip, my wife will loan me her cell phone if she's not travelling with me so I can use it in an emergency or check in every now and then.
Like Big Jim, I am fond of carrying my Creative Labs ZEN MP3 player with me. Chock full of my songs so I can critique myself and figure out how to do the next song better.
G'day, my friend. Hope you have a good one.

Hope I didn't confuse things for you. The pictures are from my own digital camera (or from shots provided by friends willing to allow me to use them) in a faux-video. I've been putting together material and ideas for a second video to accompany my song, "Thank God for Glen Rose" but it's taking lots of time and I need some more shots of the local attractions in order to make it more interesting. I'll get there eventually.

After Mark suggested using powerpoint to make jpeg images for adding lyrics to a video, I thought I would have a look.
This is just a quick example of what can be done.

Loads of room for being original I think.
God Bless Roy and Helen
