The recent cold snap reminded me that I need propane and insulation for my trailer so I must sell one of my babies. It has red oak back and sides, Poplar soundboard, spratled cherry headstock and tail. Very loud and mellow sounding! only $175.00 + $35.00 insured shipping. thats half my normal price would make a GREAT Christmas gift!! contact me here or at swampwood1@juno.com Thanks Jak

Hey Jak,
You should find a YouTube clip of someone playing it and link it here so folks can see how it works properly. Though I knew what it was, I was thinking to myself, how exactly is it properly played?

I bought a duclimer a few years ago. You can buy books on how to play in the music stores. A dulicmer is tuned to one key so you can't, I think, change keys as on a guitar with out tuning it to a new key.
I think the instrument was imported from the old country and was an instrument of folk , or mountain music. You probably can Google it for more info.

I'll take the liberty of posting a good one, although the artist has an unconventional way of playing it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l1444ylKF8UMy wife in I live in Indiana and the artist, Butch Ross, lives in Chattanooga, TN. Last year, my wife saw him perform in a pub near her brother's house in England.

Incidentally, I have two dulcimers and a strumstick, which is basically a dulcimer that is held like a guitar, sitting within 4 feet of me as I type this. My wife and I built one of the dulcimers!
