{I went Googling for a Word I'd heard that describes a Word-that-rhymes-with-Itself..I'd once heard from Bobbie Gallup..& ended up reading some Sci-Fi that I found Very Interesting/rather Scary, too..never DID see the Definition I was after..}

There'll Be Major Changes in A Matter of Hours
As Computer Brains Develop..Superpowers
Human Minds May Be..Obsolete
Maybe Not YET..But Just Wait a Few Weeks...

(CLIMB)
Hardware Improves..On a Risiing Curve
Versus Blood, Synapses and Ganglion Nerves...

(CHORUS)
There is A Moment..Coming in Time
When Machines OUT-THINK..The Human Mind
It Gets Closer-& Closer..Then.. SOMEDAY It's HERE!
Brace-Yourself for CELEBRATION
Brace-Yourself for FEAR...
"SINGULARITY..SINGULARITY..SINGULARITY!"

Just Think of A Machine..WITHOUT any FLAWS!
That "Thinks Outside-The-Box"..Not Hampered By LAWS
That Leaps in An Instant Beyone OUR Time & Space
Will It Be "Self-Aware", Though It Lacks a Face?

(REPEAT CL and CH)

(BRIDGE)
As Machines Get MUCH-Smarter, We're ALL Out-Of-Jobs:
Robots Work for FAR-Less than US Poor Working Slobs.

So Don't Feel Too-Comfy when Someday You Read
Our Army's got Some Robots, REAL Smart, They DON'T Bleed
They'll Send 'Em Off To Battle & We WON'T Lose a MAN!
They'll ALWAYS Be OUR FRIENDS..(Well, That's The FLAW in The PLAN!)

(REPEAT CL and CH)

(TAG)
FIRST It Was CHESS...TOO-SOON It's THE REST...
"SINGULARITY"

Stan, As soon as I saw your title I'm thinking. George Noory and Coast to Coast A.M. Keep pushing the sci-fi envelope. It gets stranger and stranger the farther outside the box you go.

G'Mornin' Brother Dan!

I'm as fascinated by Time as I am by Nature. What kinda scares me is it seems "Evolution" seems to predict US designing the Machines that'll REPLACE Us...as Technology makes "Things" that are Intellectually...Structurally...& "Efficiency-Wise"...Better Than Ourselves.

We've already created Computers that can Design Themselves.

All the Logical Steps for "What's Next" are already in-place.

We've also MOSTLY eliminated exploring the planets using Ourselves..as-well.

SPOO-KAY...

Thanks for Your Very Kind Visit & Words today, Amigo!

HiDee Bro Mackie!

What scares me a bit it is MIGHT decide to keep us as PETS someday..unless it gets tired of cleaning-up after us.

IF it gets as "Opportunistic" as WE are..We are in for a Heap of Trouble. 'Cuz it's gonna be able to Out-SMART us. Estimates are that Eventful Day, Basic-Smarts-Wise..is anywhere from 15-50 years in the Future. Maybe..(Gulp)..Even SOONER! & Then..It gets STREET-Smarts-Wise...& Oh Brother!

Very Interesting Times Ahead..JMO. Glad I'm Old/Good Luck Kids!

G'Mornin' Bro UK!

Yeah..we all got Something Here to be Thankful for...heh-heh!

It's truly scary because Yeah, we CAN build in "Safeguards" to keep it from happening, but eventually, we'll build 'Em smart ENOUGH they'll figure out a way to override it.

Thankfully it hasn't happened YET...Yet..it seems So Very Inevitable.
(Almost like that "Little Black Hole" they're experimenting with at CERN...that might just swallow up the Solar System...)

Sometimes it seems we're just Too-Intelligent for our own good!
Waal..Back to Enjoyin' The Holiday here..munchin' on a Genetically-Engineered Turkey that's..think I read..got SO Much Breast Meat it can't reproduce by-itself.

Thanks for Your Kind Visit & Words, Bro! Best Wishes & a Big Guy-Hug,

Very good Stan,
Sci-Fi, fantasy, etc, is right down my alley.
The singularty connected to a black hole is hard enough to understand and it sounds lately that they're having to change their minds about it anyway <G>.
And yep on progress--just like a big snowball, the bigger it grows, the faster it grows, (That must surely be a title <G>

As far as aliens, etc. I heard this morning they had didcovered life in the mud of some lake that's based on ARSENIC!!
which everybody knows is poison, so there not being anything else on earth like it, they're thinking it might be alien <G)
Come to think of it, I believe there's a full report coming out on that. Maybe at 1 o'clock

HiDee Wy Guy!

My Cousin, Jeffrey Carver, is Author of a number of Sci-Fi Books (None of which I confess to having time to read), so I guess this Fascination runs in the Family..heh!

I'm aware of the Term "Singularity" being used for Origin of the Universe..and for the "Seed" of a Black Hole. Here..as the Definition seemed to be used..it's for When Artificial Intelligence (& the Machinery, ie Robotics) EQUALS Man's Ability.."They Equal US, & US Equals THEM." (&..heh..from That Historical Point ON, They're CAPABLE of being SUPERIOR to Us..hence the "Worries" that go WITH That.)

I heard yesterday about that "Arsenic-Based Life"...& as a Sci-Fi reader you're aware of the Predictions that Silicon-Based life might exist too.

What I find Historically-Fascinating is how "Primitive" we view Our Grandparents..most of whom were raised on The Family Farm..or very Nearby..who watched Civilization prettymuch go from an Agrararian-Based Society..to the Urban One of today.

Our Grandkids'll prolly look back at US as being "Primitive" 'cuz WE "Thought Globally"..drove Hydrocarbon-Powered Vehicles, and watched 2-D TV from Picture Tubes..that only got 3 Stations.

I'm more than a little-certain Our Government..and a lot of Others..already KNOWS there's "Life Out There"... WHY we're not better-informed is Anyone's Guess.

Thanks for Your Kind Visit & Words, Amigo!

Thanks for Your Kind Visit & Words, M'LadyChum! (Gotta Scoot..Super's Been-Called/La Femme's famous for Not-Waitin'..heh!)

Enjoyed this very interesting read, Stan...quite scary to think about frown

From a craft point of view, you basically say the same thing in your Chorus as your first verse. The rest is pretty much OK.

G'Mornin' ShayneMeister!

Yep.."Guilty" heh-heh! Craft-wise, there's nothin' really cutting-edge goin'-on here, but I'm sure some Techno Music behind it all would be pretty ear-catching.

I got a big kick outta how So Many of Us got sucked-in by that Bot-Posting on "The Piano" not TOO-Long-Ago.

Sooner-or-later, we'll have to amend that Pogo line to "We have met the enemy and he was programmed by us."

I DO think Our Species IS nefarious-enough that IF we're threatened we CAN invent a Computer Virus that'll buy us a little time..BUT..if we've built Them TOO-Smart, they'll override it. Doubt you or I'll live long enough to worry..but I HOPE our Kids are Paying-Attention!

Thanks for Your Kind Visit & Words, Amigo! Best Wishes & a Big Guy-Hug/"Happy Weekend" when it gets here,
Stan
