If anyone needs a leadsheet for their music let me know I will do it for a very reasonable rate.

Does anyone use Sibelius? It's an amazing program! Like an instrument it takes practice to do well.

Hi James,

I'm a Sibelius user. Are you on 6? It's very cool.

I do lots of copy work, and one of my main clients is arranger/conductor David Campbell. I've been working on David's stuff since mid-1995, and what a ride it's been!

We were on the DOS-System Music Manuscriptor, nickname of "Erato", till early 2005 when we switched over to Sibelius (for Mac). Erato was cool, but moving to Sibelius opened us up to a whole new game, being able to work anywhere (even airports), able to send PDF's anywhere in the world for printout, able to work out of our home project studios, sometimes with a group of copyists all working from their homes, simultaneously on the same project, and such.

I LOVE Sibelius!!!

BTW, did you attend the recent Sibelius 6 Webinar? They said that they recorded the entire 2-hour webinar and were posting it on the site, perhaps by category. You might want to check it out, unless you already attended.

Nice to meet you! Philadelphia - how's that city for music gigs?

All the best,
Bettie

Hello Bettie:

Thank you for getting back to me. I have a question for you.

When I improvise in pro tools on my synth and then export the midi data to Sibelius, it only transports the notes to the treble clef. How do I get the bass clef also?

Thank you,

James Guglielmo

I'm a big Sibelius fan. I started with Composer on the Mac (remember that one? It was the complement to Performer) and went to "Notator" Logic then Finale and final Sibelius. Sibelius "just works" for me.

James, is it displaying all the notes but with a lot of ledger lines below the staff? You might just need to change the clef.

Hello Nate:

I'll try that. I am amazed by how much you can do with this software.

Still learning, the process is endless.

Thanks,

I use Sibelius 5 but I don't use it primarily as a notation program, I consider that I am using it to program a synthesizer, which if you use the playback to see what it sounds like, is exactly what you are doing.
Maybe not what was intended by the writers but can work very well. It means that you can do things which are impossible to do with real instruments, sliding woodwind instruments for example, adding extensive trills to brass instruments over 20 bars if you want. Playing violins or strings at 120beats per minute using 64th's, no-one can play that fast but it is a synth not real people so it can be done.

Hi all, I use Sibelius 4.1 and Sonar 6, if there's something
complex I do it in Sibelius only - it's easy and fast,
here are couple of tunes I wrote in Sibelius and then exported
as midi to Sonar, where added VSTi:

Not a big call for leadsheets any more, but once in a while I would like to have one for some songs, especially Gospel. How much do you charge and how would it work? Would I email you the completed song and you'd work the leadsheet from that? I'm not familiar with Sibelius at all. You can PM me if you want.

I love Sibelius, though I haven't had a home copy in years. Best notation program I have ever used, hands down. I'm thrilled by how much the price has dropped since the last time I planned to buy it. Sibelius 6 is definitely on my purchase list.

Hello Alek:

I really enjoyed your song. Nice work in sonar.
I am currently learning pro tools. It's truly amazing what you can do today.

Thanks James,
now I work on a well known classic tune to join it with hip hop,
once I'm done I send a link to it here.
