Howdy! This one's done by JPF's Heather Cowles Morris, lovliest lady in the galaxy with a voice to match so...ya's know right off it's going to sound great. And what a job she does singing lyrics that have her approaching auctioneer's speed. But, that's the tempo so what can I say? Hey! Let's watch all those line dancer's shoes start to smoke! lol Hope ya's like it and thanks for stopping to listen. 'Two Left Feet' is the last song down on the myspace player at the link below -- or, at soundclick. -Dave Myspace: David Arthur / SongwriterSoundclick: David Arthur / Songwriter ] Two Left Feet (The Out Of Line Dancer) <C>David Arthur ASCAP V1 I parked my rig at a club last night Bootscootin' said the sign in neon lights So I grab my hat and I step inside Just as a dancing fool goes flying by Ch They do a grapevine left he does a grapevine right They do a jazzbox he jumps back claps and shouts 'alright' When the ones knocked down get up he knocks 'em back down As with a grin he tries a spin, the band plays on Two left feet two left feet He's the out-of-line dancer Biggest man in Tennessee Two left feet two left feet No matter how he tries He gets tied up in the beat V2 I think my eyes are lyin' to me when He bootscoots his way on out to the kitchen 'Cause he dances back in with the cook's hat on Nibblin' on a piece of fried chicken Ch They do a grapevine left he does a grapevine right They do a jazzbox he jumps back claps and shouts 'alright' When the ones knocked down get up he knocks 'em back down As with a grin he tries a spin, the band plays on Two left feet two left feet He's the out-of-line dancer From the state of Tennessee Two left feet two left feet No matter how he tries He gets tied up in the beat Br When the band gets done with its last set He shouts "y'all ain't seen nothing yet" Then he cha cha's over to the jukebox Where off come his boots an' he's dancing in his socks 'Til his feet hit chicken grease Then ker-splat on the floor It takes ev'ry bouncer in the place To drag him out the door, whoa Ch Two left feet two left feet He's the out-of-line dancer Biggest man in Tennessee Two left feet two left feet No matter how he tries He gets tied up in the beat & Fade

Howdy Dave.
I enjoyed this song quite a bit.
couple of lines I thought could be improved on -------------- Then he cha cha's over to the jukebox Where off come his boots And he starts dancing in his socks ------------------------
mainly seemed difficult to rhyme into the vocals.
I would love to hear this with a banjo and slightly faster beat.. maybe that's just me.
But yeah, I liked it. Had me singing along
God Bless Roy

Hey Roy! Thanks for stopping and for your input. Yeah, you're right there is a bump in the road there. I think taking the 'and' out might do it. Banjo would sound great! Wish I could still play! Good call & glad you enjoyed the tune! -Dave PS Are you serious about 'faster'?

---------------- He cha cha's over to the jukebox While pulling off his boots And he dancing in his socks ----------------- Thanks for the sugg. Roy! However, I think taking the 'and' alone out will git 'er done. What you have there makes it sound like he's dancing in his socks 'while' he' taking off his boots. Something I'd pay good money to see! -Dave

There seems to be a slight channel problem around the mid point of the song. Or, am I the only one getting this? Thanks! -Dave

Hi Dave. Enjoyed the listen. Heather should try her hand at being an auctioneer.

Hi David and Heather, This is a really cute novelty number, and I loved the phrasing, I had zero problems. I did think the music could be more interesting in the "two left feet" part of the chorus--it seems to be anchored too close to the ONE chord, and it got a little monotonous for me. With a lyric this clever, I'd try to get the music in that zone as well. Kudos to Heather who spat this out with some wonderful phrasing, overall. Mike
