Folks, My brother has this item posted on craigslist/Seattle/Spokane Wash. Can easily be shipped. Ask for George. Thanks, Ms.Goody1945 or 46' Fender steel lap guitar. This is one of the oldest fenders (with the original case and steel bar) I have found anywhere on the internet, the serial number is B14. I think the overall condition is very good except the tape/insulator in the pick-up is loose. I dont own a amp so i dont know if it works. I took it to a music store last year to get cleaned up and checked out so my sister could play it but he told me to leave it alone, it was valuable and belonged in a museum or with a collector. I have researched this instrument and believe it is worth around $2000. or more but i would like to sell it now. These early fenders were actually hand made by Leo Fender and his partner (doc kauffman)before "Fender" became what is known to us today. I was told serial numbers with "A" were the standard (volume knob only)and serial numbers "B" were the deluxe (volume and tone?). In my research last year the oldest i could find was serial # A17. This really is a cool and original Fender steel and I hope the right person gets it. Again, when you research this on your own, compare mine to one as old as it is not one several years into making them. (common ones found will have serial numbers in the high hundreds) E-mail me at 2Good.2b@comcast.net or call my cell (509) 701-3916 thanks. please click on link to see pictures of this instrument. http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/msg/1576896946.html http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/msg/1576896946.html

Sounds more like a museum piece, though I always feel instruments should be played. I'm surprised it's not on eBay where it could attract a larger audience

I'll mention it to George... he may have an ebay account.
And The right person will discover it. Thanks.
