Fundraising concerts would be cool and a great way to advertise JPF. One thing though. 250 people sending 20 bucks would help pay off some of the co-payments right away and help ease the stress of the situation for Brian and Linda immediately. Fundraisers take a while to organize.

Hey Brian.....sending more prayers and good wishes your way.
Marc and Jean, I totally agree....a fundraiser would be a fabulous idea.....I also agree that it would take a while to put it all together though...and not knowing about Brians' immediate insurance/co-pay needs...had also thought about sending a donation to help out....just didn't know where to send it.
If Linda or Brian were to set up a PayPal account for this...or maybe just provide an address where we could send a check or money order....I'm sure there are lots of folks who would truly love to help.
We love you Brian....and wish you the best. We want to help you in any way we can...just let us know.

Is there some sort of voice software that would let Brian talk into the computer and it would type for him? THAT would be a great gift to get him ! !

Still, having suffered a plethora of broken arms myself, I too appreciate the challenges of "compromised typing". SO, when I saw Herbie's comment here, I remembered a commercial for the attached product, called "Dragon Naturally Speaking". http://www.nuance.com/talk/There are really expensive options, but for your word processing needs, I would think the standard version would be more than adequate. Anyway, just food for thought. In fact, I should probably get one myself, given my orthopedic prowess...but I have a feeling mine would just stop listening after a while....(lol).... Good luck, and keep working. The p/t is killer, but critical as I'm sure you've been told. We do seem to have our share of medical maladies around here lately, huh....? Ciao for now, Beth

Hi again Brian!
Ask your doctor about Namenda, (Menantine), as a glutamate blocker, to help healing of the brain. Encourages growth of new cells. Multi indications.
Typing, even though difficult, is still good for brain healing as well. The more stimuli from actions, the better.
Cindy also says hi again, and hopes you are "getting better all the time"!

I had one of those--"words to type' things back quite a ways but it made too many errors on similar sounds. You had to speak VERY distinctly and it still made lots of errors----HOWEVER---------
I understand they are very much improved and are probably worth investigating

Brian,
I've been away from the site for close to two weeks. Just want to add my wishes for a speedy and healthy recovery. My wife has had a heart attack and a stroke. I've seen, first hand, the havoc those things can wreak. Prayers and good wishes to you.
