TOO MANY BUBBAS (Kurt Fortmeyer/Trent Jeffcoat) Every Monday night it's the same old same I kick off my shoes and I put on the game Crank the TV up way past loud 'Cause something 'bout my house draws a pop-a-top crowd I love my friends but what I can't stand Is no matter what I buy it's always their brand Somebody oughta teach them how to stop at the store 'Cause they're wearing out their welcome and my 'frigerator door There's too many Bubbas in my beer Can't get my drinking out of first gear I've got an alcohol problem that much is clear There's too many Bubbas in my beer I sneak down by the creek to my hideaway spot Where I like to drown worms when the weather is hot Got an aluminum chair and my fiberglass pole Except for me and my dog I don't see a soul But when I grab a cold one and twist off the cap The whole wide world is sitting in my lap How they found me is anybody's guess I think my cooler's got a GPS There's too many Bubbas in my beer Can't get my drinking out of first gear I've got an alcohol problem that much is clear There's too many Bubbas in my beer Could be my mind is playing tricks I swear I bought myself a six Now it's a five it's a four it's a three two one I gotta move quick before... Sonofagun There's too many Bubbas in my beer Can't get my drinking out of first gear I've got an alcohol problem that much is clear There's too many Bubbas in my beer I've got an alcohol problem that much is clear There's too many Bubbas in my beer Too many bubbas in my beer Too many bubbas in my beer

This is one fine, good time, guitar pickin, can't stop grinnin, and running to the beer store song. I've got to say Kurt I smiled all the way through, and laughed on the bridge, the pickin was good too.
I'm inclined to be musical But I'm not musicaly inclined

Kurt, I can always count on your songs putting a smile on my face. Night!
"Grits is one of those country-boy words that is both singular and plural-like deer, elk and sheep. I think the singular is appropriate when there's a modifier that makes it clear one is talking about something specific. Like, 'Grits are good for you, but these here grits is tasty.'"~~Joe Wrabek

Really has a great groove to it. Sounds incredible full with just the acoustic/bass/one vocal. But I like the extra vocals and guitar, too! Some percussion in the later chorus would have been a good addition. Nice acoustic lead.
Enjoyed it all.

Really has a great groove to it. Sounds incredible full with just the acoustic/bass/one vocal. But I like the extra vocals and guitar, too! I played the acoustic rhythm guitar and the electric bass on this one. That's my buddy Bo Thomas doing the BGVs. Some percussion in the later chorus would have been a good addition. I had to draw the line somewhere...what with my budgetary constraints and all. That would be Duane. I guess there's a reason that he has played in bands with Vince Gill, Glen Frey, and Paul McCartney. Thanks!

Hi Kurt, What fun! I got a kick out of this. Production is sounding fine as well. I won't tell you it's really clever though. I know how you hate that! I met your co-writer a few years back when I made a trip to Nashville. He was really nice but I kept wanting to call him Jeff Trenchcoat. Ricki

Ricki He's been called worse...and I have actually seen him listed in the press somewhere as Jeff Trentcoat. Trent is a wonderful guy. Thanks for biting your tongue.

Hi Kurt. Very clever lyrics and a great Bud lite hearted song. Works well acoustic but would also be great giving it the full electric treatment. Glad to now you are not the only one who has pals with tight pockets.

HA! I love this...very fun...I laughed...I identified (which is scary for me) and I played it again.
Very fun song!

Very fun song! Don't play it too many times, or you might end up in rehab! Thanks for listening (twice). Kurt
