The Bush controversy started over a proven fabricated phony document released before the'04 election. Dan Rather lost his job over it. The point is moot.

Oh come on now, no cheap shots. You'd fit in well with the liberals (if you're not one already) by stooping to those lows. Find a real argument, not one made up in your mind because I disagree with you. You wouldn't take to kindly to me attacking your wife, partner, or lack there of would you? My husband is a hard working blue collar man. Leave him out of the jokes please. He works 60+ hours a week and isn't a part of this discussion.
It may have been meant as a joke but over my family I will get fighting mad. That's my one button, I can take all the jokes in the world about me but leave my family out of it, since you know none of them.
Don't cross lines, it's not very polite. And even more tasteless. That was a lot of pretend bullshit offense taken to a two word comment that you knew for a fact was a joke. So, you see where I'm coming from when I tell you that your reactions are "extreme". No, fear little miss. I will ignore you and any other lame-brained extremists from here on in. And in case you're wondering, you're the second nut I've encountered here at this particular forum. Fill you're boots with a response and take comfort in the fact that I don't give a rats ass, ok?

I think my biggest problem with the Obama haters is that I believe 100% that they have an ingrained hatred of black people that they refuse to acknowledge. They were raised on the "N" word and they look upon blacks as being inferior to them. Having someone who, they believe, is inferior to them as President of the USA goes against everything they were raised to believe as entitled white americans. Of course, the moment you mention it to them they get all out of gear and they accuse you of playing the race card when, in my opinion, it is race and race alone that drives their beliefs and opinions when it comes to President Barack Hussein Obama - and NO we should not be afraid to use his second name because it is what it is, whether you like it or not. There is no doubt in my mind that President Obama is more intelligent, more articulate than any of us here. I could be wrong on that point, but that's the feeling I have. I also believe that Obama's concern is for ALL of the citizens of America and not just the white, the wealthy and those who believe that being born into a white family automatically entitles them to something more than a child who is born into a family that is not white or consdidered not white enough to enjoy the same rights and priviliges as all other Americans. I am guilty of not being able to ignore the comments of people who I have identified as racist, but ignoring them would be wrong. They should be confronted at every turn. President Barack Hussein Obama is, in my opinion, the greatest president the USA has ever had and those who feverishly argue against everything and anything the man does or says can only be labelled as racist because there is no other logical explanation. None whatsoever.

Duncan,Duncan,Duncan, Obama isn't the whole problem. Just maybe adding rather than subtracting from the problem. The Country has about a 12 trillion dollar debt. All of it because of big liberal programs that was supposed to work. However if you look the debt keeps rising and the problems seem to never end. Obama seems to think that spending humongous amounts of money will fix the ever mounting problems.
The people, more and more of them have had big spending programs up to their ears and aren't going to be as passive as they were in the past.
They don't want their children, grandchildren, etc to be paying the bill. The country is, for all practical purposes, going right back to the 30's and another depression. And in this case it doesn't just affect U.S. Citizens but the whole world because of the global connections. You must have a clue by now.
It isn't up to the President, before or now, to run the country. We have a Constitution in place, laws that are supposed to regulate things so there won't be the meltdown that is happening now. We have had well meaning but totally mis-guided people in the past that put something in motion, on the books that was supposed to help ordinary people but totally backfired.
The housing mess and the resulting global monitary mess is the latest example. You can't vote yourself a payraise and you can't legislate poor people a low payment for more house than they can afford. It takes time and hard work to get ahead if you want something. You can't phone sucess in, you have to go out and get it.
Yes Obama means well but what he is trying to do won't work but it will make the dept go higher and higher and higher. Somewhere you have to balance the books. The people are now screaming just that. It has nothing to do with race even tho some people may use race in the mix.

Oh My God get off your high horse you idiot. It has nothing to do with him being black. HE'S NOT EVEN BLACK. It has nothing to do with his middle name it could be Cheryl for all I care. I never said he was stupid his is in fact a very articulate, well-spoken, well-educated man. Just because he's smart doesn't make him likable. He is a self centered man with only HIS and his liberal allies' best interest at heart.
I am so tired of people like you calling people like me racist because we don't like Obama. Can't we not like someone for other reasons. There's no other logical explanation. He comes up with a Single Payer Health Care plan that he tries to shove down our throats. He realized that 80% of the population was against this so he revised it, allowing private health care to remain in competition.
He is releasing terrorists for Guantanamo Bay because of the treatment they receive. THEY KILL PEOPLE IN COLD BLOOD THEY SHOULD LIVE LIKE DOGS. He passed the largest stimulus package in history, but only gave elected officials less than 48 hours to read it. SHADY. Released Top Secret papers describing our methods of interrogation. This is not good for our enemies to see. He did not release the results that the interrogations actually had. Constantly blames the prior administration for everything. The real sign of a man who doesn't know what he is doing. Sent "The black caucus" to Cuba and meeting with Raul and Fidel Castro making us look incredibly DUMB. Made small talk and even gave a gift to Hugo Chavez. He was the first president ever to not attend The Salute to Heroes Inaugural Ball. He shot down the new missile defense system that was proposed to befriend Russia. STUPID MOVE.
Those are my reasons for not liking Obama. Not his skin color or middle name or date of birth or social security you moron. I could drag that list on for days if you'd like me too.
Call me racist again.
Oh and about the joke if you would actually read. I said it was probably meant as a joke but I still find it completely distasteful.
So ignore me . . . Is that all you can do? You can't fight one argument or opinion with another. JUST LIKE A FLAMING LIBERAL. You get out when the tough gets going.
Go fly a freaking kite, and save your dramatics for someone who gives a dang. All you can do is pull the race card because you're not man enough to come up with a real argument. See me when you've grown some testicles and can come up with your own argument, instead of using one that played out decades ago.

And he's the first President not to be sworn in with a bible. He doesn't pledge to our flag. I'll keep this going until someone stops me and tells me I've proved my point enough.

Duncan I hate to inform you but Obama is half black half white and all wrong MHO And THAT sir, can easily be considered a racist statement in itself. And you don't have to "inform" me because I've read much on Mr Obama's background so I know who is mother and his father was. My question to you is: Who give a flying "F" if he's half white, half black, blue or green? I have heard this very same "argument" from racists who are trying to defend their hatred of the man. "Oh, well, didn't you know? He's half white too." So, what is your point in pointing out that he is half white if it isn't a racist point your trying to convey? Can you answer that? Are you saying you're allowed to harbor racial hatred against someone if they have a white parent and a black parent? Are you from Alabama too? Kentucky? Tennessee? Let's be honest and admit that anyone born and raised in the sourthern states are only a few generations away from being slave owners and that family members are pretty much programmed to hate, and mistrust black people. It's part of their heritage and only those with the intellectual capability to rise above this ingrained hatred to accept all people as equal human beings can be considered honest in their critism of any black person, whether that black person is a truck driver or the President of the USA. So, again, what is your point in making the point that he is half black and half white? Was it just to "inform" me? If so, then consider me informed...which I already was.

OK, OK, You've proven your point -- I just don't know what that point is.
Obama was sworn in using Lincoln's Bible at the ceremony we all saw on TV. However, Chief Justice Roberts blew the words, so they had to re-do it in private -- just in case. You are right that they mistakenly forgot the Bible the 2nd time.
Could you please at least report the whole story when trying to prove your very weak points.

That's the only weak point you can find?
And Duncan plain and simple you're an idiot. And you're just like anyone who wasn't born and raised in the south. Thinking that we all wear white sheets and burn crosses and hold hands in a circle around it as the smoke rises. Could you please join the current century?
Like I said find an argument that wasn't played out decades ago.
And my point is that there are other reasons to not like Obama. I don't care if he's the invisible man. I still don't like him.
And the point of pointing out that he's half white is just that. If people can point out that he's black. We're allowed to point out that he's part white.

I knew better than to read these posts.....but I must comment. It seems as if ignorance is eating some people up.
Duncan, I live in Kentucky and Naomi I am a Democrat. When john F. Kennedy ran for president there was three of us who voted for him in our school election. We had classmates who taunted us with rosaries, and who swore that because of his religion we were all going to hell if he became president. So there is the same mind set by SOME towards the President.
I don't care to get into the name calling, and time will tell if our President is what this country needs. All I know is that he was handed a mess, and was voted in on his promise to reform health care. Now, he is degraded for doing what he said he would do. Go figure.

To his credit, President Obama is decidedly not labeling his critics as racists. I'm sure he understands the obvious error and inherent danger in ascribing reprehensible motives to legal activities.
I've never been able use someone's skin color, ancestry, geography, nose shape or I.Q. as any sort of indicator of their character. That, to me, would be bigotry. It would also be foolish. Doing so would have excluded many friendships over the years, and ruined many spirited conversations. I make certain judgments about people based on their actions, not their looks or their heritage. And it certainly doesn't make sense to judge someone by what I think they are thinking.

Redwing,
By the way, I grew up in Chicago, just a couple of blocks away from Mayor Daley's residence. The whole neighborhood was both Democrat and Catholic and I mean the WHOLE neighborhood. In high school I joined an inter-racial group called Checkerboard, that was started by a wonderful lady named Ouida Lindsay. We met and worked at improving race relations among the youth. After I had some black friends over to the house one afternoon, some of our neighbors set our porch on fire. Are all Democrat Catholics like that? No. Were all Democrat Catholics like that? No.
We can examine philosophies and judge actions, but people have to be considered one at a time. Otherwise I'd think all drummers were alcoholics...well, maybe they are...but I mean other people.

NamoiSue,
I like you! You could be my Grandaughter, if I didn't already have a Grandaughter. Now lighten up and shush. Sorry, I'm much calmer now. I just hate when I'm accused of being something I'm not. And while others may be able to turn the other cheek, I can't. I'm way to proud. What I said to Duncan was harsh, but I won't apologize. Well I will apologize to the liberals for putting him in a category with you. After this post I won't acknowledge him anymore. He calls me a racist and an extremist then ignores me before he can see the reasons behind my dislike for Obama. That's fine he can think I'm a racist all he wants, it's his fantasy world to live in. Redwing I'm sorry if I offended you. This post is supposed to be about Obama. It's supposed to be a discussion. You're right it turned into a name calling standoff partly on my behalf. I stand behind my opinions 100% but I shouldn't turn the word "liberal" into a derogatory word, nor the word Democrat. Not all of you are the big bad that conservative talk radio makes you out to be. So I apologize to you and all the others excluding Duncan. For him I meant every word. People who mind don't matter, and people who matter don't mind.

Ray, I know the numbers on the debt and I know the problems that exist because of the republicans continued lie about WMDs. I know that GW was out to seek revenge for his father and I know that America is in the state it is in because of the Bush administration. Obama has not been in for 1 year but he inhierited the crimes, both moral and war, of Bush and Cheney. Obama had NO CHOICE but to go the bailout route and, although he wants to end the war he can't. Corporations have been running America for far too long. Special interest groups and lobbyists have been making it so middle class Americans can do nothing to fight back, and as far as the poor are concerned no one EVER gave a "F" for them, especially if they were poor and black. Tell me, Ray, what President in the history of America has ever been attacked with such vile hatred before they even had a one year under their belt? Every time Obama opens his mouth you hear the words "hitler" and "nazi" flung out from the traps of America's most dangerous racists who have now all aligned themselves with the Republican party. I mean, let's face it, there is not a KKK member in the United States who supports Obama. Any KKK member who once was a democrat is a democrat no more. Believe it. Give the man his due for godsake. It's as if the moment he walked through the doors of the Whitehouse knives came out and hatred ensued. Those who attempted to tie Obama to domestic terrorism and those who called for his killing at the McCain/Palin rallies are STILL out there. We don't need to encourage their hatred by damning him even before he's had the opportunity to contribute to the needs of the country. And finally, YOU said: "...what he is trying to do won't work but it will make the dept go higher and higher and higher." Problem is Ray, you have absolutely no proof of that so you ARE damning the man without any proof, and without rhyme or reason. I'm not saying he WILL succeed but you ARE saying he won't. So what's up with THAT? Hmmm?

They had a very good discussion on the other day; and yes, it was Fox network, about what playing the race card does. It takes sense out of the discussion. For those who automatically feel that anyone who do not agree with anyone of color, present president included, is a racist it is supposed to end all arguments. We are supposed to tuck our tails between our legs and spend the rest of eternity defending ourselves against the unfair attack. Guess what? People are tired of it. I was raised by a northern, black hating, father; and a northern mother who really didn't care what color or religion a person was. My mother's teachings stuck. I learned to judge people on their actions. I judge President Obama on his. I disagree with him, and his party because of them. If I thought what he were doing was good for this country I would be supporting him 100%. I don't, and I reserve my right to disagree. Just because you don't agree with me does not give you the right to call me a racist. Walk a mile in my shoes. It doesn't give you the right to call me stupid. My IQ has been tested three times by professionals to be in the genious range. Can you say the same? I have been arrested, on national television fighting against the draft. It wasn't against the war, or my country, but against a policy I didn't agree with. I believe in standing up against policies I don't agree with. I believe it is my right. I believe it is my right to do so against policies by a person of color I don't agree with without being called a racist. Answer the questions put out without doing that and you will gain respect. Don't, and all you will gain is my right to ignore your views.

Your husband? What the hell does your husband have to do with anything? Nobody mentioned your husband. I couldn't give a sweet flying F about your husband. Shove your husband up you ass. As for your parents, well yeah, I have a problem with any parent who raises a racist child. I personally see them as unfit and THAT is my personal opinon. Now why don't YOU grow a set of ovaries. Be a woman, a REAL woman and see yourself for what you are...a racist. God help your children, that's all I can say. I can only hope they escape the racist mentality of their mother. Yes, go to the bathroom. Go have a crap and see if it helps you lose some of that weight.

you said boyfriend, but i dont have a boyfriend i have a husband.
So lets recap you bring my "boyfriend/husband" into this my parents, and now my kids, my talent and my weight.
As I said grow a set and find a real argument, you're boring me, with your repetitiveness. Or is this how you show your manhood?

Some say that the best defense is a good offense. I, personally, think that some offenses are just that, offensive. Some people just can't seem to be able to defend their point of view without personal attacks against those who disagree with them. It is really a shame. I don't mean that it is something that is acceptable,I just mean that it is a shame that people feel like that, and a shame that other people have to put up with it.

"If someone is truly a jerk, or truly is not deserving of any positive reply from you, polite indifference is the best response you can give. Do not insult. Do not slam. Do not follow the urge to be nasty. Simply be politely indifferent." –Brian Austin Whitney
