Hi Mike,
Now see.....that's why I admire you so much.....not only are you incredibly talented.....you are also so wonderful about sharing your knowledge! Thank you for that. Believe me....with your meticulous attention to detail.....I know that every little "touch" is carefully thought out by you! That is what makes your work such a delight for the listener.
You and Kristi have a beautiful and very sensuous song here....and I'm certain LOTS of couples are grateful for the additional length! lol !!
I always look forward to work from you two. You personify "top notch".
My best to you, Gail
Hi Gail, I actually do my vocals the way Stanley Kubrick edits film, a line at a time, and I do about ten to twenty takes for each line...What is interesting is...Afterwards...I can then sing the song "straight through" much better than when I was recording it, and it's because I've listened to the final vocals so many times that they're ingrained in my memory, and all I am doing is "reproducing, from memory" the recording of them that's in my head! And, you know what? It works. I recommend this method of singing for everybody: composite your perfect vocal from various "takes", then store that "perfect take" into memory . Then when you sing it, just rely on your memory of that perfect take. Thanks again, Gail. Mike

Hi Robert,
I remember "I Just Wanna Stop" by Gino Vanelli. In fact I'm sure I played that song in the cover band I was in in the seventies...I wasn't big on jazz/pop crossovers but that one was good, as well as Bobby Caldwell's "What You Won't Do For Love."
Glad you hung in there and found it soothing! Thanks Robert!
Mike

Hi Mike and Kristi, Lovely lyric and the music and production put it up on a pedestal for all to enjoy. Does that sound too mushy? I thoroughly enjoyed the listen. The production was very well done. As for time, well, we all know length is a relative thing. You'll figure it out. Ricki

At first I thought I was going to get tired of it but you kept building and changing the vocals and music around in unpredictable ways and it was fun to listen too. Lyrics and music melded nicely. I was thinking of college radio or those stations in LA that play trippy music.
The talk about clicks made me think of Miriam McKeeba (not sure of the spelling) anyway the African click singing.

Hi Pete, You got me curious, so I found Miriam Makeba on YouTube actually explaining and singing “The Click Song.” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Mwh9z58iAUIt was interesting to hear they use the same Roman alphabet, but they pronounce their letters differently. For example, U-Q-H-O-Q-H-O-Q-H-O (which is fascinating to hear her pronounce) means Adam’s Apple! lol Fun stuff! Thanks for mentioning her and for your nice comments. Kristi

Hi Ricki, I'm glad you enjoyed our song, and a little mushiness is kinda nice, I think. Mike

Hi Pete,
I'm glad my arrangement kept the interest up for you.
African singers from many countries use consonants as percussion, as do (eastern) Indian singers. I'll check out Makeba's "click singing" on youtube, thanks for the tip!
Mike
