A rant a day keeps the doctor away!

Some sleazeball who did some outside work on my house recently tried to swindle another $700 (NOT agreed upon) and WOULDN'T show me receipts to justify the increase. What does he take me for? A BLONDE? I may LOOK gullible and stupid, but as you fine folks know...I have the mind of a Rubik's Cube...twisting, turning, trying to line up a thought...sometimes taking hours...

What was I talking about?

Hey Ben,
The "bicycle" is actually a walker with real Harley parts welded onto it! It's very crazy.

Thanks for the "kind of sexy" remark. Poor Selma doesn't get much of that these days! As for the "Cher" smirk, well, I don't know if it's "Cher-ish" or not, but it sure is a funny smirk!

Air kisses...

Be well,
Auntie

I'm very interested to know, the guy is not unique I'm afraid so Polly you are holding a very useful information. Oh, by the way, I like the thing about the rant, I'm going to use it on a regular basis with your permission (I understand the copyright is yours).

Made the mistake of reading the local paper today. The headlines, which I cannot recall and which make no difference to this rant, read like this.

One individual, male (17 yrs. Old ) raped (assaulted) nine women between the ages of 14 and 23. His ‘reasoning’? Well being the oldest he didn’t think he meet his parents expectations, he didn‘t meet the expectations of his basketball coach either. The AO did the math and some how it equaled “attacking women”. His lawyer claims that after approx. 2 years of therapy he is not “very” dangerous!!!

If convicted he might get ten years. The middle eastern countries have it right. “Cut off his F. Head!”

Our ex-prime minister got caught taking bribes ( and he didn‘t pay his taxes on it. NOOOOO kidding!). He is now in court. ‘”We” the Government have put aside $800000.00 to defend him. It has now cost us almost 40 million (no I am not kidding) and “we” the taxpayer (yes also the government) will be footing the bill. (We should have been asked. I for one would have said screw it. Let him keep the bribe.)

The middle eastern countries have it right. “Cut off his F. Head!”

One of the Prime Banks here in Quebec responsible for out pension fund decided to invest in some risky business. The risk was known but they did it anyway. When all this economic B.S. came down they tried to ‘hide’ it but were found out. At this point and time our Provincial Pension Fund is in the toilet. And guess what? YEP! We are going to have to pay it back! They mess it up and I am going to have to pay more to build it back up.

The middle eastern countries have it right. “Cut off all their F. Heads!”

Three ‘kids’ (15 and or 16 years old) decided to mug an elderly women. Not only rob her of her purse but kick the living crap out of her as well. She died. If convicted….ah who am I kidding they will not be convicted if our past is any indication. They will be set ‘free’.

A few years back three other ‘youths’, known to teachers, know to the community, known to police broke into an old couples home, beat them to death with baseball bats, then took their car and credit cards went to town bragged about it a t school were arrested and never saw any time. They were caught committing other crimes here and in Toronto and as far as I know never went to jail. WHY? Because they are just children they know not what they do!!!!

The middle eastern countries have it right. “Cut off their F. Head!”

A little girl was taken out of school by a ‘stranger’ (a women). It now seems that she and her boyfriend (18) and a friend of the mother of said child killed her. Again, if past cases are any indication, one might do time and one might walk.

The middle eastern countries have it right. “Cut off their F. Head!”

I am frigging tired of all of this. I want the Death Penalty. Not as a deterrent, that doesn’t work, just to rid ourselves of these sick ‘animals’ (and I do not like using the term animals. Monsters is a better world.)

Every other day, whether here or else where in the world, I hear about these horror stories. I do not care about your personal problems. “Daddy drank.” “Mommy wasn’t around.” “The teacher hated me.” “I don’t like myself.” etc.., until I throw up.

We all have choices and we all should be held accountable for our actions. What good is it if I teach/taught my children that they have to be if society deems it not so?

Kill these sick monsters so that we do not have to deal with ’them’. (Why do we have to keep them in prison, paying for their up keep? They made their choices. LIVE WITH IT! [The middle eastern countries have it right. “Cut off their F. Head!”] There are more then enough ready to take their place .)

I read the news paper today. I don’t think I will read it for a while. Or listen to the radio. Or watch television or…..

Douglas

Doug,
Yes, I totally agree about NOT reading the paper or watching the news. I NEVER do those things. Instead, I work on things that can possibly make positive changes in the current state of mankind.

Yes, we could cut off their F Heads, or we can actually find out the real reason why people get so screwed up and then actually HELP them instead of give them drugs or push them further down the chute with our current "rehabilitation" techniques.

Yes, this world is very screwed up. I'm afraid that if we cut off all the heads of those who are "ill," we may not have many human beings left on this planet. However, I'd be the first with an axe if allowed to get rid of those in our "system" who make money by drugging our population into robotism, suicide and violence.

Thanks for the rant.

Auntie

Hi Aunti.

Needed to vent on this. I am just frustrated to the hilt.

But in my present state of mind I do not want to consider re-habilition at this point, or even care what motivated these individuals. As 'humans' we decided if an animal is 'mad' or not and then decide to kill it. I think it is just time to look at the 'sick' ones of us in the same light.

Give me a day or two and I'll calm down.

Thanks for dropping in and sharing.

Douglas

Some people CAN'T and WON'T be fixed, even with castration. They are evils of nature, and we either confine them to lifetime in a maximum security prison at the taxpayers' expense, or we cut their effing heads off! Hard choice (or not).

My neighbor who reamed me...we finally agreed he'd do less concrete work to settle the difference. He's shady, I'll NEVER use him again, but he'll be my neighbor for a long time, and he has helped me out here and there with my troubled son, so I "ate" this one so to speak and will be learning the fine art of concrete repair on my own!

Today's rant...my kids are BRATS!!! Their friends are PUNKS! They were so cute when they were little, and now they're the bain of my existence! 16 and 20 years old. I want to ship them in a live cargo box (duct tape their mouths first) to a third world country where they'd REALLY get a wake up call! But then I'd have to ignore all the calls from migrant owners who were actually going to pay me to take them back. *sigh*

Andy's coming in LESS THAN 48 HOURS and my procrastination ass still hasn't done 10 things on the "to do" list (one was ship the kids off to another country). Why do I DO THIS??? Why, when I had WEEKS to get ready, didn't I do it? Do I subconsciously LIKE being overwhelmed?

a guy that I knew, I mean I worked with him, he lost his job and became a "handy man" Well I needed to fix my roof, wind did a lot of damage, he came gave a professional estimate, Insurance paid 3000 bucks. Since I knew him like an idiot I paid him cause he needed to buy the material to get started. Well took the check cashed it and disappeared. I had to take him to small claims court, he came back, did a half ass fix job and left ... I was a nice guy wanted to help him out, he has 3 small kids ... got left holding the bag, or hammer in this case

I think that as soon as we introduced the all mighty buck things went down hill. Some will do anything to get it. Dan, what did you learn? Polly the same question?

Once had work done on my driveway, the work was crap, we called and called and called again to get the company to honor the guarentee. They didn't. Called the BBB and the next day at 6 in the morning to big Italians (the company is run by them) showed up at my door, in suits, and tried to intimadate (spelling) me. (I looked for the cement shoes.)

What did I learn? Don't trust Italians. Well not really. What I did learn was to look before you leap. You know something your parents might have taught ya.

It's so funny, but a friend of mine who seems to always be taken advantage of, told me that his older brother says to him "they can't make you suck their di_k."

In other words, no one can make you hire someone bad or no one can make you do something against your will. If you get taken, then you do have some responsibility in it.

In my friend's case, he never does his due diligence before entering into any business deal. Thus, he suffers on the back end.

In this world, I've found it is better to do things only after having done my homework. I've been screwed too many times and I won't let anyone make me "suck their di_k" anymore!

Here is my genuine rant.

I love oldies music. I search the Internet for oldies radio. Why does every oldies station insist on shoving "Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels" down your throat. I don't like them and never have. They are a lounge act or cover band that has never recorded anything original. All of their songs sound the same. These same stations play top 40 crap from any era. There were more than 40 songs from any given era.

If you want to call yourself original then play everything and not just top 40. There! Ben

Hey Ben,
While I understand your frustrations, not every band or artist back then wrote their own material. As a matter of fact, I don't think groups like "The Supremes," "The Temptations." or most Motown artists wrote their own material except for the unique ones like Stevie Wonder.

There is a distinction between writer and artist. Heck, Barbara Steisand never wrote a song until "Evergreen." I don't know if many of the great singers like Sinatra ever wrote a song.

So, I don't fault a performance artist for not being a writer. However, if you don't like the artist as an artist, that is certainly your choice. I cringe when I hear rap. Sorry, but I do. It may be an art form, but it is mostly an angry art form and I just can't roll with that...

OK, I've cooled down. I don't mean that I don't like the artist even though I said that. It's the station that I should be pointing my frustration at and not the artist. They played "Devil with the blue dress on" three times in the course of several hours.

Ben,
That's why I hardly ever listen to the radio. CDs are much better for me. I get to listen to exactly what I like!

Me thinkest it is time to bring back the rant! I've seen some major ranting going on lately. So, maybe this thread is the place to do it because it keeps it located onto one thread.

This way, no one has to read anything negative unless they desire it.

So, if you are upset about anything and want to let it out, this be the place!

The seat belt law is already passed in Kansas, which includes passengers and the smoking ban passed. They left it up to the "establishments" whether they wanted to install walls to completely separate the smokers. Most of the establishments went non-smoking rather than spend the money for the extreme changes.

I needed some comic relief after having to say goodbye to my Andy today. I've cried so much I'm all stopped up!

What did I learn from my loser neighbor? NEVER hire a loser! Like Auntie said, do yer homework.

That was a funny remark about the Italian handyman. It reminds me of that movie "The Money Pit" where Tom Hanks and Shelley Long hire the Shirk Brothers to do their handyman stuff on the house. The guys show up with a bunch of bikers and say, "We flipped a coin...WE WORK TODAY!" grin

I don't really have a new rant...just a reflection...why, when you find a true, fine love, are there such huge obstacles to overcome? Why can't he just BE HERE and me just HAVE HIM NOW? We have to go through paperwork, beaurocracy, time, possibly incompetent people processing the paperwork, lots of money. It's no skin off anyone's nose for him to be here. Why all the crap? Meanwhile, I'm going through heartache and severe withdrawel.

Hey Patti,
Thanks for stopping in. You must be a smoker? Yes, I know the smokers hate the ban and the non-smokers love it.

I'm a non-smoker and get ill when I smell smoke. But, I still wish they would have put up the walls so that no one gets left out.

Bummer....

Polly,
While I know how sad it is to not have your love at your side, keep in mind that the blessing is that you have found him at last! You will both be together soon, but until then, know that you are always in eachother's mind and heart. Love has no distance.

Please let us know how things progress with all your paperwork. You have us all pulling for you! In the interim, perhaps there's a song you can get out of this?

Heidi,
I'm actually an ex-smoker and smoke does bother me now. I know about the walls from someone who works in a previous smoking restaurant and the news. The seat belt law has been in Kansas for quite a few years which I agree with too. I was just reading the thread and thought I'd make a comment.Take care.
