WE NEED A STRONGER PRESENCE ON JPF!!! i've lived here forever and i know there are a ton of musicians and listeners alike in kc. i'm so dissappointed i'm going to kick off a topic that every1 should be able to talk about. (how are we going to network if we don't talk) here goes: what's your fav hole in the wall to see live music at? mine is probably knuckleheads. it has an indoor and outdoor stage. it's in the middle of an industrial area (no traffic). they have alot of good bands covering several genres( and its too hard to find a national bluegrass group coming to town, but they have it). prices are fair and just a great place to see a show. so lets have it... show me that kc has a pulse please!!!!

Hey JT,
My favorite place is definitely the Record Bar.
A super close second is Cross Town Station though.

The Record Bar has a great set up and gets a lot of good hipster and local indie bands. http://www.therecordbar.com/Cross Town doesn't have the consistent booking that Knuckleheads does, but I like the sound set up and venue better. http://crosstownstation.com/

I live in Wichita. This is the closest chapter i can find. My daughter goes to school at K.U and works for a business in KC. I'm trying to find locals, but Wichita I guess isn't big enough. So Hello everybody. Lets get some conversation going. If anyones out there PM me.

Hey KC! Llywellyn's Pub in Stanley is a great spot! Twice a month they have a songwriters "open mic" night.
Pretty COOL!

I lived in Omaha for four years and I must say that, compared to Omaha, our "music scene" is embarrassing. We have over twice as many people but probably half the amount of bands and outlets for local musicians to be heard. So maybe that's why we barely have a presence on this site?
