******************************************** EDIT: I've set up a Soundclick radio station of all the songs listed in this thread (if it is soundclick song) at: http://members.soundclick.com/station/721921 ************************************************ Let's see what JPF has! Pick the one song that you feel is the best you've ever recorded (or demoed). It doesn't have to be the best written, best sung or whatever -- just when you look at your "catalog", you say "I really, really like this one". It doesn't have to be a song that will be a hit on today's radio, but it should follow a few "rules". Rules (adapted from Tangmo's, Marc, Mike and others' guidelines): 1.) Don't post a boring song. 2.) Don't post a deep introspective song about your feelings that goes on for 6+ minutes. 3.) Post one that has images and scenes that burst into life 4.) Probably is mid to up tempo 5.) Has a hook that is memorable and singable. Good luck (and I have no idea what I am going to post!) EDIT: Just think -- if I have one song that I wanted to be heard as my one chance to get noticed, what would that song be? Kevin

This one is arguably the most well received. Needs re-recording. [color:#3366FF]Lone Palm Tree - The Blue Island Beer Club Lone Palm Tree Copyright © 2007 Colin Ward I wanna be on an island with a lone palm tree, I don't need much if you're there with me, A little fresh water and some food from a tin, And we'll make love until the tide comes in Maybe we can build a thatched roof shack, A little bit of shelter so we'll keep coming back, Beach our boat on the sandy shore, Tie it to the palm tree, who needs any more I wanna be on an island with a lone palm tree I don't need much if you're there with me, A turquoise ocean and a fishing line, Lay on the beach with a bottle of wine Guitar Solo No one on the island and no TV, One lone palm and just you and me, No World Wide Web, newspapers or ice, I know it would be our paradise I wanna be on an island with a lone palm tree, I don't need much if you're there with me, A little fresh water and an ice cold beer, We'll make love for as long as we're here[size:14pt]

I have three that have received the most positive feedback. One is about the U.S.S. Arizona but it is a long, slow, sad, one. Another is my baseball song, Opening Day, sung by John Daubert and produced by Sub. The third was one I wrote for my wife to celebrate our 25th. Sub did the music for it. I want to do a better vocal sometime. It's called Still making it up as we go: http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page_songInfo.cfm?bandID=377550&songID=5534047John sang a great version of this one too - a slow, piano bar approach. Still Making it up as we go (c) 2007 by S.W. Campbell You didn’t come with instructions But then what good would they be? You’ve always been a moving target With a fresh scheme up your sleeve And though I’m sometimes skeptical I help you play them out Cause your vision of the two of us Is one I never doubt We seek, we plan We leap, we land But it’s the bends in the flow Where we lend and we owe Still making it up as we go Nobody gave us a manual It would’ve gone out of date anyhow I look at that kid in our wedding pictures And he’s a stranger to me now So in another twenty years I don’t know what I’ll be But the one thing that I’m sure of is You’ll still believe in me We shift, we turn We drift, we yearn But it’s the bends in the flow Where we lend and we owe Still making it up as we go Baby we’re a work in progress And our palette is still wet Better get a bigger canvas We ain’t seen our best days yet And it’s the bends in the flow Where we blend and we grow Still making it up as we go Scott

Ok Kevin, You might just kick me out here, lol but I wrote and recorded this song last night and it is the favorite all time love song I ever did. It may start a little slow, but it kicks in a little later. The music is by lpone. Please don't bring out the big gong show hook if it doesn't follow the rules lol. http://soundclick.com/share?songid=7361437No Words ©2009 Letha Allen ASCAP Strong and silent That’s his type Doesn’t say “I love you” Day and Night She can feel him Without words Knows complete love Is hers Chorus Sometimes love Needs no words Sometimes love Can be silent Needs no words She can feel All his love With one touch of his hand And he knows She’s his woman Oh, with just a simple glance Sometimes love Needs no words To be heard Lead Feel the silence Aw feel the silence Of a love That needs no words I Feel the silence I Feel the silence Of a love That needs no words Feel the silence Feel the silence Without words

I'm glad to see folks participating, I will definitely be listening to all these (of course I have Scott's CD, so that one will not be a surprise). Here's my choice, but I think I suffer from the same disease that Letha seems to have -- Whatever song I am currently writing/working on is the greatest thing I've ever done (LOL!). While it might not be my "best ever", it is one where if a Nashville guy said, "Let me hear a song that you think could make it here", then I'd play this one. It's new, so my judgment may be cloudy! Nice tunes, everyone. Here's mine http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page_songInfo.cfm?bandID=787642&songID=6229519WHEN GOOD MEN DISAGREE (verse) He sees questions that don't have clear answers Where I see good and evil, black and white We agree that there's a time to reason But I believe there's times you've gotta fight I see the world the way it is He dreams how it should be I live my life and he lives his You can do that when you're free Cause life goes on, when good men disagree (verse) We drove by this homeless guy on Main Street And wondered how his life had come to this But he would buy the guy a seafood dinner And I would rather teach the man to fish Still I love him like a brother And he feels the same for me We still respect each other That's how it'll always be Cause life goes on when good men disagree (bridge) We grew up in the same town Touched by the same events But our beliefs took different roads With the death of innocence I sometimes think that he's a fool He thinks I have no heart We'd like to find some common ground But we're so far apart (verse) On some Saturdays he organizes protests He believes that love's what makes things change I read my saved up week of Wall Street Journals Then go to practice shooting at the range Then we meet to have some beers Beneath the bar's TV Repeating things that no one hears Still we bitch on endlessly Cause life goes on when good men disagree Bill Osofsky, BMI, Al Carmichael, Shelia Quattlebaum, BMI copyright

Kevin, Good thread! The best songs I have written are intrumentals. My best lyrical effort is one that I received a number of requests to do at Pineyfest in Nashville a couple of years ago. I had performed it the previous years and got very, very nice reception. The following year, I had 4 requests to do it again within half an hour. But, although it might be my best, it's not my favorite. This may or may not be my best, but it's my favorite: http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=276329&content=songinfo&songID=2899627Midnight In The Swamp © January 2007 Alan D. David, BMI All Rights Reserved ((Music Intro) (v1) It always makes me nervous When I look into the sky I see that full moon rising As the daylight starts to die That Loosi-ana Bayou Takes on a whole new face As shadows and black magic Take o’er that haunted place (v2) Your skin will crawl with goose bumps Your hair will stand on end Static charges through the air As the midnight sun sets in The swamp takes on an aura Like no man could ever know As the Mistress of the Darkness Casts her spell of ebb and flow (Chorus) Moonlight weaving shadows As the critters play and romp Bayous all flow backwards When it’s midnight in the swamp When evil spirits moan their chant Their sonnets chill and daunt No mortal man should be there When it’s midnight in the swamp (v3) Nothing like you’ve ever heard Wind passing through the threads Plays its arcane symphony On the silken spider webs The swamp goes spooky silent Just before it starts to shake And in a pirogue left behind Alligators dance with snakes (v4) When the moon starts falling ‘Fore night breaks into day A hush spreads cross the bayou As the magic fades away The eerie frolic ceases As the daylight filters in But it’s just a few short hours ‘Til the madness starts again Repeat Chorus (Music Outro)

edit- I just realized this is the MP3 forum and I do not have a recording in that format. I will try to add it when I can get it converted.
I will post a song, but I don't know if I have a good recording of it anywhere. I wrote it a long time ago, but it is the one that over the years has always gotten a great response. It is a country ballad-drinking song, so it is probably not appropriate for today's country music environment. Unfortunately I do not have it in a recorded format that I can share right now.
Red Eyes Won't Change My Mind
Red eyes won't change my mind About leaving you behind Now I know I was blind all the time Red eyes won't change my mind
Drinkin' whiskey from an old tin cup Ain't gonna stop 'til I've drunk it all up To ease the pain of my injured pride, I can't hide And wash the memory of you aside
Red eyes won't change my mind About leaving you behind Now I know I was blind all the time Red eyes won't change my mind
Red eyes, red eyes, red eyes won't change my mind Red eyes, red eyes, red eyes won't change my mind
[Instrumental section - verse]
Now I'm headed for San Antone When I get back you better be gone You lied and cheated more than I could stand Ain't gonna listen to your lies again
Red eyes won't change my mind About leaving you behind Now I know I was blind all the time Red eyes won't change my mind
Red eyes, red eyes, red eyes won't change my mind Red eyes, red eyes, red eyes won't change my mind

This is the best recording and overall proably the best song I have...I wish it was me singing and playing but alas I'm not there yet... it is the one that got me into songwriting..it has had some publisher offers but I turned them down feeling they would not really be able to sell the song...anyway http://soundclick.com/share?songid=5900744Summer Fire I took a long ride down to Oceanside To see an old friend and jump into the fray Found a long haired girl alone at low tide I was hooked when she looked my way She told me she was from Alabama She’d come west to see her cousin Anne My friends said hey we can’t blame ya Enjoy take your time get a tan The night was hot and I was full of dreams I was making love for the very first time I put up a smoke screen I was just thirteen I threw myself into the summer fire Hey hey oh yeah into the summer fire Hey hey oh yeah into the summer fire She handed me a key to her back door Meet me at midnight I’ll be home Waited till I could take it no more Put on my cap and used a comb The night was hot and I was full of dreams I was making love for the very first time I put up a smoke screen I was just thirteen I threw myself into the summer fire Hey hey oh yeah into the summer fire Hey hey oh yeah into the summer fire To my surprise there sat two guys Sittin on cloud nine They were on her cousin’s back door porch They said hey you’re a little early go get in line My head was spinnin’ cause I’d just been torched The night was hot and I was full of dreams I threw her key into the summer fire Hey hey oh yeah into the summer fire Hey hey oh yeah into the summer fire Hey hey oh yeah into the summer fire Hey hey oh yeah into the summer fire © Ted Bryson 2008

I maintain, like a lot of folks, that my greatest song has yet to be written. As far as the stuff already written goes, I have a bunch that I like, and there's a bunch that audiences like (and they're not necessarily the same ones). Here's one where both me and audiences usually agree. It was written a while ago, and has actually been sung as a Christmas carol. I regularly use it as the closing song for a performance. Joe link is www.soundclick.com/bands/page_songinfo.cfm?bandID=183557&songID=1397686[4/4, mod. slow & adenoidal] I’M GIVING MOM A DEAD DOG FOR CHRISTMAS --J. Wrabek [THE RAP: The late, great Steve Goodman once said that all country music songs are written about Mother, Trucks, Trains, Farms, Prison, Dead Dogs and Christmas. I could never think of any songs about dead dogs and Christmas, so I felt compelled to write one. To make sure everybody knew it was a country music song, I threw Mother, trucks, trains, and all the rest in with it. This is the result…] 1. I’m giving Mom a dead dog for Christmas; I found him by the railroad tracks today; I know she’ll think that he’s all right ‘Cause he don’t bark, and he don’t bite And he’s not the kind of dog that runs away… I’m sure she’ll be surprised on Christmas morning When she finds him lying underneath the tree, With a ribbon wrapped around the place Where that southbound freight train crushed his face, And a card that says “With Love to Mom from Me…” CHORUS: Love is all around you, and it’s not so hard to share; There’s lots of lonely people, and there’s dead dogs ev’rywhere; So take a moment of your time and show ‘em that you care— Give someone a dead dog for Christmas, ___ Give someone a dead dog for Christmas. 2. Well, the landlord don’t want pets in our apartment, But when he sees this one, I’m sure he’ll change his mind; ‘Cause he won’t eat trash, or mess the floor— He don’t even bleed much, any more— And he’ll never bother strangers passing by… If I ever rob a truck, and go to prison, I’ll want a dog like him right by my side; He don’t take up a lot of space And he seems at home most anyplace, And I can talk his ears off, he won’t mind… CHORUS LEAD BREAK HERE, JUST HALF A VERSE LONG 3. People stop and stare, like he’s something special, But a dog like him ain’t really hard to find; That freight train that went through before Must’ve wiped out half a dozen or more And they could have their pick of what I left behind… Mom will be so happy she’ll be speechless, Like all the folks I’ve showed him to today; I’ll thaw him out inside my bed And teach him tricks—like playin’ dead— And clean him up for Mom on Christmas Day… CHORUS & END © 1978 J. OK, To make it easier for folks to listen, I've set up a Soundclick Radio station at: ***** http://members.soundclick.com/station/721921 ***** Just click on the link and hit the all songs in one go (hi-fi or lo-fi). Or, if you are feeling adventurous, try the hi-fi or lo-fi shuffle. I am just adding them in the order that I find them in the thread. If you don't have the song at soundclick, then it won't be part of the radio station (sniff, sniff). This is going to be a great station, because the songs are great! If I missed a song (or if I miss one in the future) let me know. Thanks to all, Kevin

With Wendy D on vocals, and Sub doing production (featuring John Daubert on piano), nearly any song would sound good. So here's mine: 2 O'Clock In The Morning(c) 2008 Rob Lewczyk 2 o'clock in the morning And time's standing still Wet wheels on the pavement Below There's a tapping of rain on the sill The bed Feels awkward and cold I can still smell the dinner That I ordered And ate on the couch all alone CHORUS: And I I want you to know Your memory's not welcome here Nor your smell Cast them out Make them go In the car I remember our fight Trying to look between raindrops On the windshield Past my tears as I drive through the night Now I sit In the park where we met And memories keep flashing Before me Like a film I can't forget CHORUS I know It can't be the same And I pray God will take me At this moment Look to the sky And call out your name CHORUS (Musical Break) CHORUS

Beautiful song Letha.

This is one of my favorites because it's one of the few I've written where the words and melody are all mine. A nod to Dave Scarboro of East Craft Demos for the vocals and instrumentation. Enjoy! -Greg http://soundclick.com/share?songid=1269666 Flight 687 (I Hope It’s Not Too Late) ©2004 Greg C. Brown BMI Flight 687, Boston to L.A. Arrives in half an hour, won’t be no more delays. It's been a long time coming, I know she must be scared; Well that's one bond I know we’ll always share. CHORUS The silver bird is landing, My baby's coming home. The years have all but vanished, Her childhood's almost gone. Together we'll grow memories Like we have never had. I hope it's not too late to be her dad. Her mom and me were children who tried to grow up fast, An empty, loveless marriage can never hope to last. She took the child and left me for that New England shore; I thought I'd never see her anymore. REPEAT CHORUS BRIDGE She's older now, the choice is hers, She wants to live with me. I'll do my best to make it work And give her what she needs. I called and wrote her letters at least three times a week, Sometimes I thought I'd choke on the words I tried to speak. I never gave up hoping that I would share her life, Flight 687 lands tonight. REPEAT CHORUS No, I hope it ain't too late to be her dad.
If you don't eat your meat, you can't have any pudding.

"Don't Want To Be Famous" http://soundclick.com/share?songid=5513170"Too Little Time" Band recording, with Sub collaborating on the ending, and producing. Since I love to play bass too, (was in between players at the time of recording), it's just one more reason this gets the nod. Also, it gets air play on WSTW in Delaware, and covers the rules for this thread. I have better songs maybe, (Too Little Time and Just Gotta be Friends), but maybe not a better record. ???? Anyhow, I had to pick one, so Famous it is. Based on "Wings" just being formed. (Took some liberties). 1st. Verse: I can always call when I get the chance And see my kids through my one ear Then it's off to who knows where tonight This bus is my home And it's been roaming round forever Chorus: I didn't want to be famous Just wanted you to feel this music with me I don't want to be famous Just need to play all these melodies I don't want to be famous 2nd Verse: Long time ago I didn't think fame would happen You can never say never When you're in the middle of harmonies There's two ways to go You'll reach for the highs and live the lows Chorus: I didn't want to be famous Just wanted you to feel this music with me I don't want to be famous Just need to play all these melodies I don't want to be famous Don't want to be like Amos Don't want to be famous Break I didn't want to be famous Just wanted you to feel this music with me Ending section: I don't want to be famous No, I don't want to be famous Don't don't want to be famous Nooo, nooo, yeah Hmmm, Hmmm, yeah Well, Well, yeah I just want you to feel, I just want you to feel Well I just want you to feel, (yeah) I just want you to feel this music with me yeah, (yeah) I just want you to feel this music with me yeah (yeah) I just want you to feel this music with me yeah "Don't Want To Be Famous" http://soundclick.com/share?songid=5513170

Hi Kevin Well this song was the first collaboration of me with Calvin and it's still may be my favorite - though I really need to upgrade the whole thing, because I think I can do it better justice all around now........ http://soundclick.com/share?songid=4733538Rocks.....Get Me Stoned © words and music by C. Stewart/Joice Marie ( Nov. 21, 2006 ) Some look like they're growing Right out of the ground Dark shades of mossy green Others rusty brown Rocks.....get me stoned Weather beaten, jagged edges Some have fallen down Others are too big to move They just hang around Rocks.....get me stoned CHORUS.... From a mountain range of granite To a pebble on the planet Rocks.....get me stoned Rocks.....get me stoned Some live on the river bank Drying in the sun Doesn't take me very long To find the perfect one Rocks.....get me stoned Different sizes, endless colors Certain qualities That's what helps create Individuality Rocks.....get me stoned Chorus..... From a mountain range of granite To a pebble on the planet Rocks.....get me stoned Rocks.....get me stoned Bridge.... I like to rock and roll With my head full of soul While I roll a big rock Down a hill into a hole Because, rocks.....get me stoned CHORUS.... From a mountain range of granite To a pebble on the planet Rocks.....get me stoned Rocks.....get me stoned ! A LeMoN & McFARTneY ProductioN !

Hey Kev... K, I'll play ! ! http://soundclick.com/share?songid=7075625About the song A fellow member of www.jpfolks.org named Skip Johnson, a minister, opened a thread with 100 song ideas. Anyone else just playing the soundclick station on shuffle mode? This time I'm kicking it off with "When Good Men Disagree" which was offered up by Bill Osofsky. Al does a great job singing and playing this one! EDIT: It's quite the exciting and eclectic mix. Kevin Soundclick Station: http://members.soundclick.com/station/721921

Hmmm. I usually leave the assessments to other people. Based on feedback and web hits, my best would be "I Wrote This Song for Cash", "Dead Sexy" and, yes, "Twenty Chickens for a Saddle". Based on feedback at JPF, it might be "Eldorado" or "The Graveyard of Songs". But screw it, I'll put up one that I personally like, just because it makes me feel good: http://soundclick.com/share?songid=6680723LemonadeI'm on the run In summer sun She likes to take it easy I feel my thirst But she comes first And then it's cool and breezy I used to drink to feel all right But since she taught me day from night It's out of sight My Lemonade She's so sweet She takes the heat And makes it into shady shade Won't even think About a drink Just want my Lemonade When I'm in pain She brings me rain Washes all the blues away When I’m withdrawn She pours it on Splashing colors on the gray I used to drink to feel all right But when she switches on the light It's out of sight My Lemonade... I'm a roman candle Great balls of fire When I'm afraid And she knows why I get hard to handle When all I desire Is Lemonade My Lemonade... So when I burn She takes a turn She's my biggest fan And when I'm hot She hits the spot She knows I'm just a thirsty man I used to drink to feel all right Now I can tell the fight from flight It's out of sight My Lemonade She's so sweet She takes the heat And makes it into shady shade Don't even think About a drink Just want my Lemonade And if I blow She slows the flow And when I see her fade I hold her near Beside the mirror And kiss my Lemonade (Copyright 2008 by Mark Kaufman)

KevinP: I don't judge the songs and I respect the choices folks make for themselves -- even if that choice is NOT to be involved in this little adventure. I'm sure you have some great songs, but that's OK to just listen. If you change your mind, I'll be here waiting.

Sorry Kevin you have always treated me well but I had to wonder why you put the rules up in the first place so I didn't post anything. I'm out burning bridges tonight (dang might see a lyric tomorrow on that one) so I thought I'd ask. I appreciate your answer. I apologize for the singed trusses.

There's only one rule -- Don't be boring. It's up to you as to whether you can pass that "test". This is for fun and for getting a bunch of great tunes in one place. If the rules bother you, ignore them. Kevin

I've only posted two full songs on JPF so far Kevin (more to come). It seems this one did get quite a few views and replies with very generous comments from both the guys and the gals, so using JPF listeners as the judge... as far as images, I can't help but see a story video like this one each time I listen... The video is mostly done in black and white reflecting the past(w/color at certain times) and as the song is being sung it jumps back and forth between the singer on stage and the girl in the story (who are one and the same). 1st verse- Scene 1- She is in her bedroom where she is primping in front of her vanity w/those big pink curlers in hair, painting her nails bright red, and getting ready for the "big date" etc. only to find her beau is late again(as usual). He finally shows, sweeps her off her feet, and all is soon forgotten. They leave her house and on the way out he catches a glimpse of himself in the hallway mirror and combs back his dark thick wave of Bobby Darin style hair as he's done a hundred times before. They drive off in a 57 Chevy and cruise on down to the malt shop, etc. where other girls are eyeing him and he's eyeing them back (thinking she doesn't notice, etc.) During the 2 Refrains of the song, it's back to her on stage singing at a 50's type dancehall, w/band members dressed ala Buddy Holly style, as she is looking out onto the crowd of couples dancing, then during the verses it's the story being played out. You get the idea "I'm Just A Fool Who's In Love"(c)2008 Lynn Orloff http://soundclick.com/share?songid=6960579Why does it seem you're always late We plan on six, you show at eight Time after time you make me wait When I know I've waited before Why do I always accept your excuse Though I call tell a lie from the truth Guess I'm afraid of what I might lose I'm just a fool who's in love I'm just a fool, just a crazy fool Crazy in love with you You look in my eyes, and my heart's hypnotized I don't know what else to do...but..love...you Why does it seem when you walk in the room There is a trace of someone's perfume Still I believe when you promise the moon I'm just a fool who's in love I'm just a fool, just a crazy fool Crazy in love with you You look in my eyes, and my heart's hypnotized And I don't know what else to do...but...love...you Why do you always treat me this way Friends try to warn me my heart's gonna' pay Though they mean well, I ignore what they say I'm just a fool who's in love Guess I'm a fool, yes I'm the fool I'm just a fool who's in love with you Guess I'm a fool, darlin' yes I'm a fool I'm just a fool who's in love

http://soundclick.com/share?songid=7281155BLUE LABEL music and lyrics -- B. Buoncuore Can you catch a dozen colds and sneeze the make? Or break a cry, swallow your sadness from the sky Or bake an ice-cube in a heated freezer Cook the cold, imagine your old Elbows on the table Time slots in a blue label (Refrain): Souls for sale at discount prices Hurry fast before life slices Twenty years as fast as one And I’ve only seen one sun Cards are on the table Between my blue label (Chorus): Love for people, respect for human kindness Goes in either direction, living with anyone’s table Give me a blue label, give me a blue label Bleeding bones and ice cream cones Flavors that justify monetary loans Play with your brain On the end of a sign Sign on the dotted line But I don’t know of any dotted lines. I just know someone else under the table. Bloodshot eyes, in a blue label (Refrain and Chorus Repeat): Copyright © 2004 Goodheart Songs/Goodheart Music All rights reserved. Background on the song: I actually first wrote this when I was 21 going on 22 years old. So that was back in 1983. The origional demo was recorded using an old reel-to-reel and stereo cassette deck. Played on a Fender Rhodes electric piano. The song was of course reworked on this version. To the best of my memory, I know I was suffering from a cold accompanied by a fever. The term blue label, just means someone who appears to be down all the time. The main chorus "Souls for Sale" I believe I heard someone say it somewhere and it struck me as a good song phrase. This recording that you heard, the main frame of it was recorded around October 2004 and it was recorded on an old casio keyboard. I upgraded a year later to a Yamaha and added the alto saxaphone and guitar.

Well, I thought I'd throw one in here too. (yeppers, that's me doing harmony too.) Now can anyone tell me how to post this to the same page the rest of your songs are on the soundclick... duhh... currently can be heard at: http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=852843 Moonlight Millionaire by Goody Haines Wanting the Golden moonlight in the trees. Longing for the silver in the stars... Feeling the coolness of a passing breeze can almost make you forget where you are. (chorus) Cuz I'm a Moonlight Millionaire. At the moment I haven't a care. Though in reality, I'm as poor as I can be... right now I'm a moonlight millionaire. Just this little farm that we call home. It's the only place that we've ever known. Open skies above and land as far as you can see. And I'm a millionaire just as long as your with me. (chorus) We had the long cold winters, then the early thaw. Spring brought us wild north winds that never seemed to calm. Summertime was hot & dry.. frost hit in the fall. I know we struggled year after year, but with you I have it all. (chorus) Cuz I'm a Moonlight Millionaire. At the moment I haven't a care. Though in reality, I'm as poor as I can be... right now I'm a moonlight millionaire. Yes, with you I'm a Moonlight Millionaire.

Hi Kevin, my greatest song for now is "Man, How These Walls Cry" co-written with Derek and Caroline and produced by the great Mike Caro....still love this one and it's really a great song..thanks so much..glyn
Man, How These Walls Cry
Through the years i've seen many things Some I wish I had not seen I've seen men come and go Some go home and some go Well, you know.
It's a shame it took this to bring me to my knees
It doesn't matter who they are The roughest, toughest, meanest of men With all kinds of tattoos There will come a day when you'll have to bend.
You know when something's going down There's an icy wicked chill in the air And it's as thick as ice You better think twice Before you show anyone that you're scared.
It's seeping through the walls Like fingers reaching out for you Stops you in your tracks Afraid to breathe or even move.
No one makes a sound As evil floats around But, at night , man you should see How These Walls Cry.
My mamma reverd the Lord She said "son you'd better be good Or you'll go straight to hell Well, it feels like i am in this cell.
Mamma did what she could But she can't stop these walls from closing in At times I swear I hear them talking I pace the floors spend hours walking At anytime my life could end.
When my mamma cried for me I just laughed right in her face Now her wisdom I ignored Has put me in this place.
No one makes a sound As evil floats around But, at night man, you should see How These Walls Cry
How These Walls Cry
Well, if I could get out for just one day You know what i'd do I'd get down on my knees And kiss that woman's feet Tell her I was such a fool.
I've seen a man kill another man Just for sitting on his bed Life means nothing behind these bars Just look at someone wrong and you're dead
Yeah, they act so tough, swearing, cussin' and fighting At night the damned lay still scared by a little thunder and lightening.
No one makes a sound As evil floats around But, at night man you should see How These Walls Cry
How These Walls Cry

This is about as good as I can do at home. It probably would sound a lot better with some of Sub's treatment but here it is: That Lady made me sing the blues http://soundclick.com/share?songid=177652 That lady made me sing the blues (c) Rick Goggin 2002 V1 Well I met her in N'awleans. She's a blue eyed Cajun queen. I was doin some hard drinkin at the time. Well she sached through the door, and my jaw'd about hit the floor. And I knew somehow, some way, I'd make her mine. V2 Well we danced all through the night. And she clung to me real tight. So I took her home and we made love till dawn. It was just like in a dream. I'd found my love, it seemed. But when I woke up that cajun girl was gone. Ch1 She had long black hair and eyes so blue, her ruby red lips'll make a man out of you. If you'd a kissed her, you'd a loved her too. That's why I search all night and day, for that Cajun girl that slipped away. Oh man, that lady made me sing the blues. V3 Well I never seen her again, and I ain't had a drink since then. I got tired of wearing out my shoes. Finally I'd a settled down, with the cutest little girl from my home town. She don't know, she ain't got no clue. Ch2 She got long black hair and eyes so blue, her ruby red lips'll make a man out of you. If you could kiss her you would love her too. Well I be with her night and day, and we make love in the Cajun way. Oh man that lady make me sing the blues. Oh yeah that lady make me sing the blues.

Glynda: Which song do you want me to add to the soundclick station? You have a couple of versions at your site. Posting a direct link would help.

"If someone is truly a jerk, or truly is not deserving of any positive reply from you, polite indifference is the best response you can give. Do not insult. Do not slam. Do not follow the urge to be nasty. Simply be politely indifferent." –Brian Austin Whitney
