I am needing to have an Original/Unique melody composed for my lyrics(see below for parameters) and All are free to submit your best effort, I will pick one I feel is best and the composer will receive $150.00 cash as payment for music on a work for hire deal. Send a link to your mp3 demo and I'll give it a listen, I will post the winner in this thread. If you are a composer and work on 50/50 writer coptright basis only, I would concider such a deal IF the melody you create is awesome to my ears! IF you are a company who does work for hire compositions I will concider paying more depending on quality.
The CHALLENGE (Parameters) for all composers is to have a UNIQUE yet simple musicbox melody that starts the begining of the song and is built upon as song progresses and winds down at the end. This song will be preformed by a male vocalist (who I've yet to find...but I will!)
If there is something wrong with this post (ie...not allowed etc... I will close it!)
Here are the Lyrics:
GOOD-BYE MEANS LETTING GO
Lord I know we havent spoken, Since that night two years ago, My hearts still full of questions, Things I really need to know. How do I keep from hating, When he chose to drink and drive? Lord tell me you've a reason, For that man to be alive.
CHORUS: I still see her in my dreams each night, I hear her laughter on the breeze! All my heart has left to hold, Are her precious memories Lord would you give her all my love, And please make sure she knows, That I coulden't say good-bye.... Because good-bye ... good-bye means letting go!
Can she hear me way up there? Every time I stop to pray? She's the beating of my heart, She's what gets me through each day! You said we'll live forever, When it's time to leave this world, She might be your angel now, But she's still my little girl!
Chorus Repeat
Lord I'm sure you know, the hell I've been through, Now I've come to realize, My little girl is safe with you!
CHORUS: I still see her in my dreams each night, I hear her laughter on the breeze! All my heart has left to hold, Are her precious memories Lord would you give her all my love, And please make sure she knows, That I couldent say good-bye.... Because good-bye ... good-bye means letting go!
Tag No...I'll never say good-bye to her.... Because good-bye means letting go! Good-bye means letting go!

If I write from my heart, the song will have life. If heart felt music is added, it allows my words to touch hearts, then it has hope. And if it sung by a voice that the music and words truely touch, it will have a soul, and if it has a soul it will touch thousands!

Michael,
Music box stuff generally repeats after 20 seconds or so....so are you looking for repeating melodies for the whole tune or more of the repeating verse and chorus as a "standard" song format? Make sense? Check out my vocals on my pages as well and see if anything grabs you sound wise. I have top gear and know how to use it so let me know. Thanks!
Paul

Thanks Paul, I checked out you site...very nice! I would enjoy getting with you and seeing what we can come up with, do you have yahoo chat or any place we could chat to bounce some ideas around? If necessary we could do this through e-mail but real time chat would allow us far better communication and I can answer your questions immediatly. Up to you! you can reach me on yahoo ID michael_bacon592000 I leave it on all day usually.

Michael,
I am way better at production than I am at typing! Sorry. We can talk on the phone in real time if that's ok. Songwriting is personal and this darn computer's feelings don't match mine! Ha! My cell is 609-760-8118. It's always on. Thanks!

In my opinion, you should never 'buy' music or a melody. Find someone who likes your lyrics and do a co-write. I see that you live in Nashville so that shouldn't be a problem.

Rblight, I understand what your saying and I have left the co-writing option open, yet to be honest, I know very little of the music industry ins and outs so that I'm a little nervous about possible complications with any legal requirements , contracts etc... As for living in Nashville area, I am a trucker and hometime is rare. I have been trying to find time to go to the "Broken Spoke" in Nashville, which is a popular songwriter hang out, and haven't made it there yet. But I must admit I'm meeting some great people right here!
; ; Louis, ty I lookforward to hearing what your working on, I will make final decision/choice on all submissions on JULY 20TH!

Hey Michael, I went ahead and sang it, still not awake though. I just did the 1st verse and the chorus. I really like it, but I'm a little partial, lol.. I fixed it to where you can download it. http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page_songInfo.cfm?bandID=100639&songID=6675262

Michael, I read the lyrics and had a tune in my head by the end of the first verse. What you hear is the first time I did the entire song all the way through. I really hope you like it. I just put it in an email to you as I didn't see how to attach a song on the boards and it isn't on any public page. Thanks for sharing these words. It's a tear-bringer-on song for sure. It did to me.

I have received more than a few renditions of this song and have noticed that the chorus repeating on the last 2 lines is difficult to work in, so I have revised the lyrics to adjust for those of you having trouble with the flow of the song due to this...see below for alternate version of the lyrics lyrics.Eather version will be considered equally, I hope this helps!..Thank you!

Good to meet you John! Feel free to submit your best effort and who knows? The talent here is off the scope and I thank everyone for the contributions they are making! I would gladly assist anyone here with lyrics if needed on their own works. (My strongest gift is writing lyrics!) Mike
