Hi guys and gals. I am finally in the stage where I'm trying to get a first cd going. The goal is to have one ready to sell by August when the Minnesota Renaissance Festival starts. The only problem is that I just started learning guitar so there's no way I can accompany myself for this one. So, I'm looking for some classical guitar players who can record from home. The music I'll be singing is all from the late Renaissance and early Baroque period. I have sheet music for all the songs however most of them have just a vocal and basso continuo line. I need someone who would be willing to put their own touch to it. I would like to do a contract for hire, but am willing to discuss options with whomever I find for this project. Please let me know if you are interested and what you might charge per track, etc. If you'd like to hear some (hastily done) recordings of what I'm singing, visit my myspace page at www.myspace.com/caterinafrancescaOr, if you happen to hail from the Twin Cities area and would like to collaborate in person, let me know.

HI ALISON!!! I won't offer my services, because I can't read music. It's so good to see that you're still sticking with the guitar though! Let us know how you do. If you don't get any bites here, you might want to check the music program at your local college. There's bound to be someone there or a contact you can make for the project.

I had my first lesson last Monday. It was a lot of fun. I spent the month before hand learning the basics (notes, and a few chords) so I was pretty well prepared. Went over chords and suspended chords, etc. I think I'm catching on pretty fast as I'm already playing songs at the end of the method book (Duncan) that I bought. Granted, I'm still a little slow, but it's there.
Anyway, I'm keeping the local college students as a last resort. But I have considered it.

Alison; Do a Google search on Classical Guitarists Minnesota. I did and I found a ton of them.
A former Minnesotan.
