Hey Brian -
I'm still here. This has not been a good year for me as my son was in a serious car accident this spring and hospitals, rehab, and getting his life back to normal has been our primary activity. On the positive side he is doing very well. 2008 should see me returning to my regular activities.

Glad to hear your son continues to progress, Marty. I joined a cover band, The One Eyed Jacks, early last year. One of the band members had written a Christmas song -- "Merry Little Christmas To You Too" -- years ago but had never recorded it. I finally got to hear it one day then I rehearsed it with some of my bandmates. I decided to start recording a version of it at home to help me remember it and to provide the writer with a souvenir. He liked it so much that instead of waiting for some time when all of us could get together to try to record it for entering it into a contest he said I should just keep going with it. One other bandmate does appear but I'm on the vast majority of tracks and, for better or worse, (co-)produced it. It made it to the finals of thenextholidayclassic.com -- and it has actually gotten some airplay on both WIZZ-AM (a small station in Greenfield, MA) and WMAS-FM (a large station in Springfield, MA), garnering on-air compliments from the DJ's at the latter station at least.  I've heard it once on each. It's been a pleasant surprise and made for a memorable holiday. Peter
