His injuries were way too serious at the time of his admission after the accident. I went to Texas and attended the funeral with the rest of my family. And all your comments here helped to sustain me while I was there. Thank you all so much. Original post: I have an urgent prayer request. My brother-in-law in Texas is in critical condition after an automobile collision in the line of duty (detective in the sherrif dept). Please pray for his family. His prognosis is very poor. Thank you so much Beth, Ria, Jan and Bill.
My nephew called me. He is in highschool and has a sister in middle school and a little brother in third or fourth grade. They know the possibility but not exactly how grave the situation is. We're all reeling. So, thank you for your thoughtful prayers. My sister is hopeful still and every added person praying means a whole lot to her. She told me so a little while ago.

I'm sorry that I couldn't log on until just now. Lot's happening with work and my mother-in-law visiting from out of town today.
At 4:30 pm today, my Mom called me to say that Sandi and my neice and nephews had just told Dale goodbye. He did not survive the internal injuries which caused anoxia to his brain.
I know God has a plan that is overall for the benefit of all. He didn't invent death. Satan did. But, sometimes, for reasons we can't see or understand right now, he allows these tragedies. I won't say this to my sister Sandi though. I'll just hold her and cry. That's what Jesus did when Mary and Martha had to say goodbye to Lazarus. And like Lazarus I expect Dale to be resurrected when Jesus comes in the clouds of heaven to take us home. I expect to see my StepDad and my Dad and Grandfather, Grandmother, and many others as well.
Thank you all so much for your generous prayers. I know it isn't an easy topic to think or write about. I wish I had better news. I'll be driving to Texas as soon as I can rest up for the trip.

Vanessa I didn't see this until now. I'm so sorry to hear of this tragedy in your family. I'll be praying here still. The family still needs support. Even though I feel and know as you do that they will be together again someday. If you could PM me with their names (or post them here), our church keeps a roll of names in our temples which are prayed for daily. (names stay listed for two weeks, at which time I can put them on again) I would be happy to add their names to the Seattle Temple list as well, if you are comfortable with that. I'm overwhelmed by the kindness you all have shared in taking the time to pray for my family. Thank you all very much. I'm still having trouble believing this has happened. But my sister surely must be in shock. She just went through losing her Dad. And not long before that she had been thrown off a horse and had to have extensive surgery on her arm. So, she is undoubtedly being pushed to the edge emotionally. My Mother made it safely to Dallas yesterday. She then had difficulty getting the rental car for one-way so my cousin and her husband drove her to the rural area where my sister lives. She arrived there about 45 minutes after Dale was allowed to go to his rest in Jesus. My brother is also there with Sandi and the children.
Thank you again for your prayers. My Mother's safe flight is nothing short of a miracle in itself. Life itself is a miracle---every breath of it.
Linda, I'll PM you and thank you for your very thoughtful offer to add their names to your church's prayer list.

Not sure you're still there but I want you to know We're pulling for you and your family. I know this is a hard time and in the midst of grief it's hard to see the point in things. I won't go all philsophical and say this happend for a reason. I'll just say God is still in control even in situations that leave us wondering. May he shelter you and your family in his arms. May his peace that knows no bounds cover all of you in your hour of need. May his swift hand protect you from evil and from danger. I just read through these posts and found the news. I am so very sorry for you and your families loss. I have been praying for all of you since I first heard of the accident. I prayed that if it was the Father's will, that he would go swiftly into Jesus' loving arms. I feel certain that he has. You'll hold each other again someday, I know. God be with you and your family, at what I know is a very difficult time. Please give his wife and family a extra hug from someone who cares deeply for their loss.

Thanks to everyone again for your loving words. It really didn't sink in until I read this thread this morning. When I get to Texas, the community will be mourning. This is a very small community and just last spring one of my classmates who'd lived in the community all his life died of a heart defect (from birth) that he never knew he had. Also, just this summer the school's principal was killed in another car crash while enroute to help someone in distress (someone's car was broken down).
I've got to get my boys to Sabbath School. So, have to run. I love you all.
