This may be an older movie but it is still a good one.
"Unbreakable" staring Bruce Willis and Samuel Jackson
At the very core of this movie it is about a super hero, however what makes this so unique from other super hero movies is that it is very down to earth and more realistic then any you may have seen before. It explores many aspects such as being human with human faults, facing one's problems, over coming adversity and realizing what one truly wants in life to be happy. The Movie it's self has a slow but gradually increased pace but because of the cinematography and it's creative uses makes it a work of art. I found that performances from Bruce Willis and Samuel Jackson to be very well done. Of all the movies I have seen Bruce in I would have to say that this would be one of his best performances. Some of the other actors parts were a bit stiff in some areas however the entire movie over all was good.
Rating (I think we could use a star rating for our reviews lets say out of 5, to bad we don't have a rating or poll option on these boards)
I would give this movie a rating of 4 stars out of 5
I would highly encourage renting this movie and it would make a great addition to anyone's library.

The cinematography was clever, one scene being shot as the reflection on a blackened tv screen. It's been a while but I recall other shots, angles, ways of filming that impressed me.

It was impressive and held my interest through the end, but I saw it while I was in the middle of doing a LOT of research into Black History and African-American culture and historical figures... and as such I could not for the life of me figure out why they had Samuel Jackson's look fashioned so much after Frederick Douglass. I'd have to put a "spoiler alert" here to say more, but I found that a very strange choice... and the costume designers even mentioned that's what they were doing specifically, on the DVD, so it wasn't just my imagination.
I would be interested to hear other perspectives on that. Maybe I just missed something... something Jackson's character perhaps felt about himself. I don't know. It puzzled me.
