Toby Bonar will be at Skipper's on Sunday April 15th at 5pm. Toby gives us great performances at the local open mikes where he puts everything he has into his music. This is a great chance to see and support Toby Here is Skippers Blub about the performance
Sunday April 15, 2007 Time: 5:00pm Cover: $ $12/$15 Buy Tickets Steve Forbert Toby Bonar
"feisty roots-rocker with folksy a song mix: homespun, straight-talking sentiments with striking images Steve's trademark raspy vocals and keen observations still connect with audiences TOBY became obsessed with the blues while a student at Eckerd College He rapidly developed a deep blues sensibility Lessons from local troubadour, Roy Book Binder aided his dramatic ascendancy in the Delta blues field He dispenses commanding vocals with deeply rooted conviction "
Hope to see you there for a great time! Papos John Frassica

Toby is a helluva talent, and a really nice guy...I've got a gig Sunday afternoon, but I'm going to try to make it to Skipper's in time to catch his set. Mike Worrall http://www.myspace.com/mikeworrall

I was going to drop a line about this show, and I see John already did so. Thanks for the encouraging words.
Ah, but the reason to come to Skipper's on Sunday is to hear the wonderful Steve Forbert. Everyone's songwriting will be improved after listening to him. "Steve Forbert, a versatile performer whose roots lie in Jimmie Rodgers's pioneering country blues and his Meridian, Miss., upbringing, but whose maverick instincts are more in line with the 1960s innovations and poetry of Bob Dylan and Van Morrison." Wall Street Journal, Luke Torn, October 14, 2004
The show starts at five. Hope to see some just plain folks there. Thanks, Toby

I am definately gonna try and make this gig. We have company coming in from way out of town (London) for a week so we have to consider her as she travels with her five year old daughter. She is also a musician and songwriter so if at all possible we will all be there I just have to feel it out as it is family and I must consider the folks etc. I will say however that yes of course Steve Forbert is remarkable but Toby isnt on that bill for nothing. I have seen him perform more than a few times now and this is one talented and accomplished artist. Jaw dropping everytime. Keep Strummin' Al www.aandrproductions.com

Toby was excellent. I talked to the lady selling Steve's CD's. She said a lot of people asked her for a Toby CD. One step at a time, but it's time, Toby.

Thanks Jim and Steve, and thanks to all of you who came out to Skipper's last night, to all of you who offered encouragement vicariously through the folks who were able to attend, and all of you who offer encouragement to everyone all the time. Songwriters are special creatures. I look forward to catching up with you all soon.
Peace, Toby

Glad your show went well! One of my fellow JPFer's heard Toby play and said: He has too many fingers! A nice compliment. I've seen Toby play a few times and he is a very talented young man. Wishing Toby the best!

Hey Toby, Congratulations. I have been a fan of Steve Forbert since high school. I still have my copy of Jack Rabbit Slim. I'm sorry that I didn't make the gig, but my back was killing me. Keep making us proud. Jules
