Very well put together. Not sure it commercial, but hey, it's darn fun. Maybe sell it to a travelling squirrel circus?

I guess with nuts it has to be Squirrels, but all the while I was thinking Gibbons...fun write, can feel the jumping with first and forth line rhymes, amazingly I used that approach earlier today...like nuts, screw around the same....lol

Hi Joice,
I like this. Well done. Okay it's not commercial in the pop sense but it gets high points for different subject matter, well rhymed and lyrically descriptive of our furry friends. Perhaps a kid's tune. I love the idea for the circus music in the intro and outro (perfect idea) I for one enjoy looking out into my backyard and watch them do exactly what you describe and I think of them as acrobatic and graceful. They almost fly!!! I also like how you never mention the word "squirrel" at all and you don't have to. This would be great w/a complimentary video. I can really see it. Clever lyric!!
Best, Lynn Loved "tall timbers don't hinder" line!

Hi Calvin Thanks for the visit. You know this may have sat dormant in my mind much longer if you hadn't posted "It's a Nutty Kind of Love". Now that I wrote it there's some evidence of music in my head now too...funny how the goofy stuff can manage to take priority.....I'm glad you had a laugh! jm

Hi Joice, That's really neat what Rittman noticed about the first and fourth line rhymes giving the feel of swinging from limb to limb. I wouldn't have noticed otherwise. Really great fun writing there. Have you ever seen one of those 'flying' squirrles? My brother found one that had been abandoned somehow from the nest as a baby when he was about ten. He kept it in a cage for a while. Not sure what ended up happening to the the critter. Seems he gave it to a local naturalist of sorts. Anyway, the baby squirrel had that skin stretched between his limbs that helps his kind to glide from tree to tree. Fascinating creatures they are. Vanessa

Hi Lynn Thanks so much for the vote of clever and your approval of the rhymes and all. I appreciate your time....Yeah, it's the lazy mornings i watch out the window from my bed and enjoy their games....I was tempted to add the word squirrel in the bridge, but thought the same as you. I didn't need to. So I'm glad you wrote that comment. Have a nice day! jm

Hi Vanessa Thanks for your visit and comments. Yes, I have seen flying squirrels believe it or not in my house! Little devils were interested in a straw broom I had near the chimney. They're noctural. So one night I was sitting in my living room hearing this rustling noise, but every time I'd go to look it would stop. Finally I got a glimsp of the cute little guy and ended up capturing him with some big gloves....he had a strong black line along each side where the skin stretched between his legs. Very interesting. I let him go and removed the broom. I think he wanted the straw for his nest. Thanks for sharing your story with me. jm

Hi JM
This was a fun read. Very descriptive. I was thinking monkeys too but the antics didn't quite fit Then I got to this line fearlessly gripping a twig as they plunge and thought vine would be better. That's when I realized it was squirrels.
Good one. I think it would work well on a children's CD.
