My CD info comes up in most places. But I cannot figure out how to get the information to Meta on Windows Media Player.
I am aware you can type in yourself. But I want it to come up in the player when the disk is inserted on anyones machine via the internet.
Anybody know how to submit my info to them... ie ARTIST,SONG NAME,etc

I have read that it is a problem with windows media and there is a "patch" available somewhere. That is as much as I know. It might be that each end user has to apply that patch. I'll be on the lookout for more info.

Hi Larry
I am not sure I understand your question
How does someone insert a CD via the internet?
Are you talking about digital distribution over the internet or an actual physical CD inserted in the CD player?
If you are talking about the data being encrypted on your CD I think you need software for that. I read something about that just recently. I'll see if I can find it.

Does you're CD have a barcode in the master?
Is all your information in CDDB?
Chances are if you don't have a barcode you won't be able to get it very many places. But the one database to get it into is CDDB. Most of the services pull your disc info from that.

Jody is right on. If you want WMP to be able to pull your CD's info off of the internet, CDDB is the first place to go. CDDB is now called "Gracenote." Here's a link to their submission FAQ: Gracenote Submission FAQ EDIT:It turns out that WMP doesn't use Gracenote. They do use a company called AMG. All Media Guide perhaps? Sorry for the confusion. Hi Larry As you have probably guessed when it comes to comps I do not know a lot but (to clarify for Bill)I know that when a cd is inserted and played with WMP it goes on line to search for info. This info is then tagged onto the entry in the library for that particular cd. It is a good tool as you do not have to manually enter artist and titles etc. However for anything not registered with them it is a waste of time. Personally I do not use wmp but prefer "real player" it is easier to work plays anything and is more stable. It also scans both your comp and a web site for info and will tag the cd entry in the library. Again it is not much good if you do not have info on their system. Larry do your Cds have track info etc burned on the lead in? This info even comes up in the standard info window of a quality cd player eg Sony. The following link may help to solve problem and provide info. users.pandora.be/satcp/eac06.htm

All My songs are embedded with all the normal and extar info my friends inform me it comes up on thier decks in thier cars. Song Title and Artist and Time. I am on CDDB according to "Oasis" which did the encoding. I paid extra for that. I also have ISDN numbers embedded and yes thier is a genuine UPC code on the disk as well.
Most people use Media Player since it comes with Windows. When you insert the disk into a computer it goes out the internet and retrieves the all the Album and Disk info. Artist/Song Info/times etc.. At the moment when it's inserted it cannot find the info.. there has to be a way to submit the information.

Sorry Larry I misunderstood.
Looks like this might be another good reason to have professional replication done. I'm learning, LOL

Hi Larry, It turns out that WMP uses All Music Guide as their primary CD database. Here's a link to their submission info page: All Music Guide Submission Info Phil C.

Larry, what's coming up on people's car stereo's is the CD-Text that is encoded on the CD at the Mastering stage. That is how that information is coming up on a car or home stereo. I'm not sure why you'd have internet connection information embedded on the CD, but then I'm guessing you meant to say ISRC and not ISDN (ISDN indicates a type of broadband connection). In the future there is no reason to pay extra to have the CD information submitted to CDDB or All Music Guide. You can do it yourself using iTunes for CDDB (Gracenote). For AMG it's a crap shoot when you're a non-signed artist. Jody
