I am afraid I have been gone from Texas for too many years now to know of any open mics, but I suggest you narrow down your search because Texas is a very big place. It is larger than many small countries.

Hey Tuki - Ruta Maya in Austin is great; every Tuesday night. Signup is at 8:30pm, and music starts at nine. It's a huge, beautiful space with a nice big stage, and the sound is incredible. Here's a video I made when I played there a couple weeks ago. Tell Ozzie (he runs the night) and Curt (the soundman) I said hello. Enjoy! Shawn

Cheatham Street Warehouse in San Marcos is a great place. Kent Finlay has been running a Wednesday night writers' night there since 1975. A lot of well-known singer-songwriters cut their teeth there.
