Hi Folks, We are working on launching Just Plain Folks Chapters in key geographic and populated areas around the US. We currently don't have a coordinator volunteer for this city and would love to hear from anyone who is interested in helping launch a chapter here. There is a detailed list of the requirements needed to be a coordinator as well as info on our philosophy on what the local chapters can do for your musician community. Please take a look at all this on our chapter page at this link: http://www.jpfolks.com/Chapters/index.html If you are able to meet the requirements and interested in getting involved, please email us and let us know. Also, please post a note here. Ideally we'll have multiple people who want to help out, but the minimum requirements aren't difficult or time consuming and only require consistency and a true desire to help out. We hope to visit all the active chapters in North America in 2005 or 2006 during our Roadtrips. This will include local showcases and inclusion in our documentary project, but we need to get everyone organized to get the ball rolling before we visit. Thanks in advance for your help! We visited Santa Fe this winter. Would we be better off focusing there rather than Albuquerque?

Hi Brian, Sorry about the delay, I've found that things happen slowly in New Mexico. I'd be interested in being a chapter member, but a coordinator wouldn't be one of my strengths. I actually live 18 miles south of Albuquerque in a town called Los Lunas, so you'd probably be better off with a coordinator from Albuquerque. I know there are a lot of local musicians around here because I work for Albuquerque's Government TV Channel and we record many events with some really good musicians. I'm just wondering how many Just Plain Folks members ARE from our area. Regards -Rudy Carl

How could we get one of these groups goin down here in El Paso Texas? I'm sure it would be better than Albuquerque's. (sneered with jealous rage)

Manel,
You can start a chapter anywhere where there's at least 10 interested members. As for it being better than Albuquerque.. since we don't have a chapter in Alb. that wouldn't be too hard! = )
