Those of you that have been keeping up with these boards know that Cindy & Frank are hosting a benefit for a young lady that is in need of some desperate help. At the showcase I am going to have a donation bucket so we can help these unfortunate young people. If we all chip in the price of a drink there should be nice chunk of change to donate. We are all in this together also applies to life! Jerry

Jerry and to all of you, thank you so much for offering to donate for the children of Karen Mancuso. The giving spirit of our community is really proving to be a true inspiration. One correction though...N2S is not hosting the benefit, we are just the musical talent for the day along with Deejay Denise. Sassy's Martini Bar is hosting the event along with a lady named Fran Castricone from Senior Connection and Mature Lifestyle magazines. I am working on finding out who to make checks out to (my guess would be Karen Mancuso's daughter Cassandra Hultz, but I need to make sure - they are starting some kind of bank account/fund called Celebration of Life or Karen's kids or something like that for donations), should you all decide to donate that way instead of cash. Thanks again for your generosity!! You guys are the best. Cin and Frank [This message has been edited by Cindy LaRosa (edited 05-10-2006).]

From my point of view: If N2S is involved in a worth while charity I think it is necessary that their fellow JPFer's also donate or help. There are so many situations in life where we are held hostage or are helpless. This is not one of them.Look into your hearts and dig deep into your wallets to help out this young family. They deserve a chance!Lets stop this from being another DCF horror story! Thanks to Cindy & Frank & N2S for bringing this to our attention.

I just added some information on a special guest speaker to Jerry's original post at the top of this thread. Check it out. We need to know who's coming out so we know just who is bringing what and how we need to set up. Please respond. Keep Strummin' Al www.aandrproductions.com

From what I've read and seen Mr.Edwards does a lot of supporting and helping with the independent music scene here in Tampa Bay. There are some local music & talent shows coming up that are worth checking out on his web site.

Al, Jerry and to all,
I'm really sorry we are unable to attend...we had really hoped to make it this month, but we have been asked to be the performing act at the Celebration of Life Fundraiser for the children of Karen Mancuso @ Sassy's Martini Bar that afternoon from 4-8pm.
For those who've asked about donations: if you wish to donate by check, please make them out to Cassandra Hultz (Karen Mancuso's oldest daughter...the one who is trying to support her younger siblings.)
Thanks for all your help, have a great showcase and hopefully we will be able to attend the next one. I wish we were able to perform and/or attend some of these great shows coming up, i.e. at the Royalty Theater, but we have a packed up performance schedule ourselves and are already booked on these dates. Anyway...we'll catch up soon!!
All the Best, Cindy and Frank N2S

Just confirmed Sunday with Terry Anderson, the manager at The Rock Hard Cafe. We will be up on the marquee. I will be bringing the P.A. and congas, three mics with cords, stands etc. Who is bringing a bass rig? I will be glad to accompany anyone on background percussion who wants it. I will need help manning the p.a. as usual as these events can be demanding of my time. Bring some friends and be ready to showcase. We are hoping for a really good turnout especially with this particular guest speaker. So come prepared to shine. Remember to be courteous of others when they are performing. Due to time constraints we have to ask that you give short intros to your songs and that they are limited to five minutes each. If you have a ballad that lllloooonnnngggg limit yourself to the one song. Its only fair. Keep Strummin' Al

This sounds like it's shaping up to be a fantastic meeting and showcase!! I'm really sorry that we are unable to attend, but as you all know via my previous post, we are playing at the Celebration of Life Fundraiser for the children of Karen Mancuso in Largo that afternoon from 4-8pm. They have really been advertising this via flyers, paper and the Leader Bee and I've caught wind that they're expecting a tremendous turnout...possibly 300 - 500 people (that would be GREAT as we'd really be able to raise a substantial amount with that)! What a great cause...and thank you to those of you who can donate to help these folks in need. (See Jerry at the meeting). You all have a wonderful show and know we're with you in spirit. Talk to you soon! Best, Cin

I'm new, Jim McGonigle, but I'll be there. Pro'lly just kind of hang back, but I'l certainly introduce myself to as many as possible.
I'm interested in getting to know the backup band and the protocols (hate to be so formal but I need a clue), and setting up learning/rehearsal times for the next meeting(s).

Hey Jim, welcome to the group. Not much in protocol to play. Just get with people to rehearse for the next show. I'm not aware of anyone using the back-up band this month as some of the key players are out of town, however, bring your instrument of choice as we may have a end of the night jam time permiting FOR EVERYONE, DOES ANYONE NEED THE DRUM SET? Last call. If so post here and I will bring them. I will also bring a guitar amp. Jerry is bringing a guitar amp and bass rig. George, thanks for bringing the CD player. Do we need anything else? Dan
