I have to say, you guys are anything but "plain" folks! I still pop in from time to time and read some lyrics and as many of you know, I spend most of my time at the Muse these days. I've just found it easier to try to concentrate on one lyric board at a time. It's not that I don't love you all or you have bad breath or anything...LOL Anyhoo - I just posted this at the Muse and thought I'd share it with everybody here too. If you're interested, just let me know. Sorry for posting it in this forum, but it's the only one I really visit here. If Brian wants to move it or delete it, it's okay by me. I'm easy. Rather than write an entirely new post, I've just copied and pasted from the first one. It's late...I'm tired...y'all know the drill. For you bluegrass fans out there, you'll be happy to know this pop rocker is learning to play the fiddle. That's right. The fiddle. <font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2"> A few months back I had to go to a doctor to have them take a look at...well...you don't need to know THAT much detail... Anyway - operating under the rule "you should always have a copy of your CD/tape with you wherever you go", I sold her a copy of our CD. A few weeks later, I went in for a followup and asked her what she thought of it. She liked it, but her SON liked it better and asked her if HE could have it. Turns out he was visiting on leave from military service.
On the drive home, my brain recognized that "I'm in the car and driving - it's time to think up stuff". While I didn't come up with a new song, I thought it would be a great idea to donate some CD's to the troops serving overseas.
The only problem was trying to find an organization I could do it through. For USO care packages they wanted 1000 copies. Um...we didn't even have THAT many made fer chrissakes and the Wendels ain't exactly made out of money either...
But I finally found an organization to help get smaller quantities to the troops and I shipped off 100 copies of the Wendels CDs to them yesterday. Very soon now, they will be in the hands of our troops serving our country.
Before I go any further, I need to iterate that this is not about whether or not you support the war (or any war)!!!. It's about supporting the human beings who were sent to deal with the horror of it all. They're people. Just like you and me with real feelings and opinions and families. It's a terrifying situation and as fellow homo sapiens, they deserve and need our support.
Anyway - so if you have some CD's you'd like to donate, please send me a private message either through the Muse or to my hotmail account. If you have a LOT of CD's you want to donate, I'll be happy to tell you who to contact to make that happen.
I posted this same message (pretty much anyway) on Garageband.com's message boards a day or so ago and so far I've had committments from at least 5 bands to donate over 400 CD's and one band who wants to donate 1000. I have also received a communication from the business manager of Garageband enquiring as to donate a very sizable number of CD's. This number will probably grow in days to come and I sincerely hope it will.
Let me know if you're interested.

Hey Hobes,
Brian was wondering what to do wtih the 200,000 cds he gets for the JPF Awards entries. Maybe this might be a great option for them. Wouldn't hurt to ask.

Ar ya good lads Hobes and Skip. Nice gesture. And nice CD too for the imformation of anybody who hasn't got their copy yet. And looking forward to summer so i can get back itno wearing little and show off the Wendy tats. Hey I might send some of my CDs to the enemy. That should make them surrender, or at the least mush their brains so bad they can't fight no more. Wondered where you got to Hobes. And I agree on the one forum at a time thing. I do not know how the multiples do it, Or if they really do do it. Take care Cober. Graham ------------------ http://www.soundclick.com/bands/2/grahamhendersonmusic.htm
