Thanks for stopping in! This is a song about the unique times we are living in. All the images and concepts come from the scriptures in Revelation, Hebrews, Isiah, Acts and from several "red letter" writtings in the Gospels. My prayer is: "Lord come quickly, as soon as everyone's heard this song"! Your feedback is appreciated, thanks! Kathy, Thanks for stopping by and giving me a little "pat" on the back! Hope all is well with you and yours. I'm looking forward to our next Colab. All in God's grace and good timing! :-)) Chris, Glad you had a chance to listen. I make download options available so listners can hear this in full stereo. Most folks don't realize this, but I checked my CD-ROM bible and found at least two or three scriptures to authenticate each line of my lyrics! It turned out to be a real fun 'lil bible study! Thanks again for the listen and kind feeback! ClaireJeanne, Your getting to be a regular "customer" around my posts! (Lol) I'm glad there's a few folks around like you that don't expect me to re-write every song from scratch! But really, if you ever want to share any ideas for improvements, just pass them along, Ok? God is finished with me yet! God bless. Hi. Missed you at the OC chapter meeting. Jean mentioned someone who wanted to come but lived in Lake Elsinore and I am guessing that is you! I LOVE the background for the song. Personally, I hear a much younger more alternative voice singing it and I would increase the tempo. It would be a really cool and very hip song that way in my mind. But it just depends on who the song is being written for. God Bless Marla Reid

Hello Marla, Welcome to JPF! Thanks for the listen and feedback. This was just a kind of "first cut" to show artists the basic melody. I'm not opposed to various artists (younger, etc.) singing this and/or speeding up the tempo. I have the complete chart available to any Christian artist or song leader that would be interested. I'm glad you enjoyed the words and melody! Thanks and God bless! Michael Borges P.S. Do you write music or do vocals? [This message has been edited by Michael Borges (edited 05-26-2002).]

Hey Michael, Do you know that I have had your song in my head all week and I only listened to it once! What a hook! That is always the test I put my songs through before I keep them. You asked if I write or do vocals. Yes, but I consider myself a better writer than singer. In fact I was hoping at some point to find other artists to do my songs but I found that in many ways it was just easier to do my own CD. Honestly, I have found that I enjoy performing more than I thought I would but I still get very nervous about it! I just released a Christian Contemporary CD about 6 months ago Called "Then God Whispered." You can listen at www.marlareid.com if you like, or if I ever see you at a JPF chapter meeting you will probably hear a song or two there. I haven't had a chance to listen to your other songs you have posted but I will need to do that. Also, I do have a friend with an incredible voice who isn't a writer but is praying about doing a Christian CD. I told her that there are people out there who wouldnt mind letting her use original songs. If she ever decides to do it I will mention you. Blessings! Marla, Thanks again for the feedback, and I'm glad you liked the hook! Wow, you remembered that all week long after only hearing it once! Is your friend going to do an all Christian music CD? If so, please let me know. It'd be good to hear her singing. I'm sure between your material and maybe some of mine, we could keep her pretty busy! Of course, no one can just "use" our music, they will have to get permission and then pay a royalty on sales and performance rights, etc. On the other hand, if it's played at church for ministry for no charge, then there would be no payments. Best regards, Michael [This message has been edited by Michael Borges (edited 06-01-2002).]

I like the piano. The weird synth stuff isnt my style. The vocals are pretty good and the drum beat is simple. Well written song and pretty good song even though not my style of music.

Hey There Mr. Guitarist, Glad you stopped by to listen. Well, the instrumentation had a bit of "trance" track mixed in to give it a bit of "high tech" feel. After all, this song is about current and/or futuristic events, so I wanted to give it a tint of "future shock" effect. The main thing for me as a song writer, was to get effective lyrics, melody and some great vocalists. I think I have achieved that on this number, but I would agree, there's probably other ways to interpret the backing track. I suppose it would all depend on the next artist that takes this and really runs with it! Hopefully before it's too late! Thanks for your input, Michael ------------------ Not perfect but... PERFECTLY forgiven! [This message has been edited by Michael Borges (edited 07-31-2002).]

Trush! Thanks for your confidence and interest! First off, there's no "right or wrong" way to do this, but hopefully we'll find the best and easiest way! From experience, several ideas come to mind: 1. You could send me a midi track of the violin melody you have in mind. I could print it out and follow that as an outline to play and record. That's essentially what Gerry Cooper and I recently did for his song "Sunday Afternoon"! 2. You could also try to have me "ad lib" something, most likely run a few bars in parallel to your melody or invent a few counter melodies or harmonies, etc. 3. It could all be done via internet, or you could mail me a CD with two versions of your song, one with a "scratch track" of what you have in mind, and another track with everything except my part. I would recommend that you pick a song or two and post it with a link to me so I can listen and download. If not, you could just mail it to me on CD, and I can take it from there and finish it at my studio. Please drop me a line anytime via e-mail! Thanks! Michael ------------------ Not perfect but... Hi Michael
Heartfelt song and performance! Your passion comes through. I'm not crazy about the melody lines, but that's just my personal taste and opinion, and could mean nothing in ways and means of the music biz. So, push ahead and "make" a place for it. Positive songs are needed, that's for sure.
All the Best to you! Keep the passion going. John

TRUSH! Thanks, got the links and e-mail too. Let me listen to what you've got and I'll see which would be a good one to work on. Stay tuned!
JOHN, Thanks for the listen and your word of encouragement. Much appreciated! Michael

Hey Michael...
Here's my take: I think the backing tracks lend itself to more a dance atmosphere. Which to me really don't fit the melody or the vocal style you've put over it.
Message wise I think it's fine. Production wise I think the vocals are also mixed way to prominant over the music. I think make this work you might want to listen to Enya's production style as that's where I think it might fit better. Cop some of her production techniques and it may make the tune really stand out.
that's my .02 and I'm sticking by it.
Jody

Whitesides, Thanks for your input and feedback. I understand that differant artists might use differant background styles, I have no problem with that. I just wanted a hint of something "futuristic" sounding, hence I picked a kind of "trance" effect. As far as the vocals, I agree, perhaps I could re-mix and get the vocals more "mixed in" with the music. Thanks for your honest and helpful tips!
Michael
