Hi, this is Jared Jones. I am currently a student at Elon University here in Elon, North Carolina. I've been shopping around for a manager and have yet to sign on with one. Horizon Management, from Endwell, New York has over 1500 clients, and they sent me an artist management contract, but they want $500 from me to get my promotional package ready. I don't have that money right now. I'm trying to break into the music business so I can have money. I write and record my own songs and I want the equipment to be able to perform all over the place. I don't even have a car anymore. So I was wondering if anyone knew of any managers that I could send my material to. I also need a manager to try and sign with a label, because they only listen to managers and A&Rs. I also want to know if anyone has signed with Horizon Management. I read an article online that said avoid paying up front fees to managers, because then they have more incentive to get you deals so they can benefit from them as well. If anyone can give me any insight to help me through this situation, please let me know. Also, If you want to hear some of my music, I can send you wav files through e-mail, or you can wait until mid October and go to hitquarters.com, search for artist, Jared Jones. Thank you everybody.

Hey Jared, Are you sure you want to sign with a management company that has over 1500 clients? How could they possibly give you the time and attention you want? ------------------ Scott Andrew Acoustic pop superhero! http://www.scottandrew.com/music

Think of this logic bro.... One GOOD well known act is better than over 1500 UNKNOWNS. If you're really looking for REAL managers who know the biz, then I suggest you buy the latest copy of the Artist Management Directory published by Pollstar. It will cost you about $89, but it is well worth it. You will have every name, address, phone number, and artist roster on practically every management company in the industry. I believe you can goto www.pollstar.com You might want to think about this little tidbit....Horizon Management is NOT listed in Pollstar. Might want to think twice before someone asks you to pay an upfront fee. If I were you, I'd run the other way. Thanks, Gregory Watton A&R/Staff Songwriter ERA Productions www.eraproductions.com
