Hi, everyone, I am in the process of submitting my CD, Sheltering Wind, to various independent radio stations naitonally and internationally. Do any of you have recommendations? I am particularly interested in stations that play acoustic, folk, and country/folk music. Thanks for your help! Have you checked out Whole Wheat Radio? They're an Alaska-based Internet radio station that loves indie artists. They've been more than generous with airplay of my "Away For The Day" CD( http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/steverobinson if you fancy a listen) and they're fantastic about letting you know about the number of spins you've had/dates and times/listener feedback etc. You might also want to submit MP3s of your tracks to http://music.podshow.com/. Podcasters can take your tracks for their podcasts if they like them. I signed up two weeks ago and have already been on half a dozen podcasts. There are lots of receptive DJs/shows out there(and some not!). I have links to many of them on my site if you want to check them out. Hi Emily, Here in Tampa Bay we have a community radio station WMNF 88.5 here is their link www.wmnf.org They play many local independent artists and interview them also on their Thursday and Friday morning shows. We have had many of our members highlighted and they continue to be very supportive of the Independent Artist community at large.
