Election season is in full swing, and after watching what feels like my thousandth TV campaign commercial, I noticed a common theme: "I'm 100% behind our president." It made me wonder... shouldn't candidates be 100% behind their constituents first? That little thought turned into this fun song. I hope it makes you smile. This is another song produced with by my AI voice.

Bring Me Someone - Not That Guy
https://soundclick.com/song/15288577

[Instrumental Intro]

[Verse]
Don't bring me a king in a tailored suit
Selling easy answers, calling them truth
Don't bring me a hero who can't hear "no"
Or thinks the whole world is a TV show

[Verse]
Don't bring me a smile that's hiding a scheme
Or promises painted like a lottery dream
Don't bring me a man who lives for applause
I want someone stronger than his own flaws

[Pre-chorus]
No ego bigger than the sky
No truth that changes by and by
No "trust me" every other line
We've had enough of that this time

[Chorus]
Bring me someone who serves instead of rules
Who studies more than slogans, who values facts, not fools
Bring me someone who'll leave the country strong
Who knows the job is bigger than one man all along
Bring me someone who remembers what this office means
No lies, no scams, no manufactured schemes
Not that guy!
‘Cause we know better
Not that guy!
America deserves better
Not that guy!
Not this time!

[Break]

[Verse]
Don't bring me a billionaire who speaks in my name
Playing with our future like it’s all a game
Don't bring me a leader counting enemies
Instead of counting opportunities

[Pre-chorus]
No insults dressed as honesty
No chaos sold as strategy
No shifting blame eternally
That's not what leadership should be

[Chorus]
Bring me someone who serves instead of rules
Who studies more than slogans, who values facts, not fools
Bring me someone who'll leave the country strong
Who knows the job is bigger than one man all along
Bring me someone who remembers what this office means
No lies, no scams, no manufactured schemes
Not that guy!
‘Cause we know better
Not that guy!
America deserves better
Not that guy!
Not this time!

[Bridge]
The strongest never need a throne
The wisest minds still learn
Respect is never demanded
It's something you must earn

[Interlude]

[Final chorus]
Bring me someone who serves instead of rules
Who studies more than slogans, who values facts, not fools
Bring me someone who'll leave the country strong
Who knows the job is bigger than one man all along
Bring me someone who remembers what this office means
No lies, no scams, no manufactured schemes
Not that guy!
‘Cause we know better
Not that guy!
America deserves better
Not that guy!
Not this time!

[Outro]
[spoken]
Bring me someone
Not that guy
Not this time

Rob, I really like this one. The hook, "Not that guy!", is memorable and easy to sing along with, and the lyrics build the message without ever having to name names. Whether people agree with the politics or not, it's well crafted and has the feel of a real protest anthem. Nice job putting conviction into a song that's both catchy and easy to follow.

You didn't mention anyone by name, but you might as well have. Obvious as Ben.

What you think of Trump doesn't phase me at all.

But the music is wrong for it, I think

That sounds like a Jason mraz or a beach song.

the singer sounds as if Trump doesn't bother
him at all, and is enjoying it.

Lyrically you need to strip it down to a few of those ideas, words are all over the place.

Not sure why you posted a song in my thread, classless.

Anyway, the few folks here are all playing the ass kissing game, why? so theirs get kissed.

Pointless. Have it at, I'm tired of the clique.

I think we're getting away from what this site is really about. It's a songwriting community, not a place to bash each other or turn every discussion into a personal argument.
Everyone's entitled to their opinions, and constructive feedback on the songs is what helps us all improve. We don't have to agree on politics, production, or writing styles, but we can disagree respectfully.
Let's keep the focus on the music instead of each other. That's why most of us are here.

I’ve tried a thousand times to encourage you to become a recording artist and put your own music out there. The “robot” comments are jokes about AI, nothing more. They’re not personal attacks on you.

Rob , this is what you should do with this song. Have a female a sing it., it talks about...a man, and I want someone stronger.

Change your pronouns, to I.

This way it's ambitious, an Anti Trump domg can be found there, it's just not overt.

First verse , first chorus chsning pop.

Ore chorus is too much.

I work on them as much as they do. You praise them. Your lying to somebody, I know who.

But I'm not here for you to piss on,.

A good site is honest.

When somebody says you're a great writer. This is great, ...what choice do they have but to say the same thing back?

And that's why it's being.done

You wanna do that go head, but don't [naughty word removed] on me

Dom,
Thanks for taking the time to listen and for sharing your thoughts. We obviously hear the song differently. I wasn't trying to write an angry protest song - I wanted something catchy and satirical. To me, the humor comes from pairing a fun melody with lyrics about the qualities we don't want in a leader. Trump has always struck me as more of a clown than a tragic figure, so I felt a lighthearted arrangement suited the message better. Other songwriters mentioned that the combination worked well, which tells me it landed the way I'd hoped.

It also seems you liked the concept enough to spend time rewriting some of the lyrics and creating your own version. I appreciate the thought you put into it, even though I prefer the lighter, more satirical approach. Since the structure, the hook and many lines of your version are from my original lyric, I would also appreciate it if you would give me some credits on your Soundclick page.

A Song by Robert Baitinger.

I tried for a reason . It's a technique ove seen in other artists a ings. That's what craft is apart.

Ie, you might never know this was an anti georhe Bush jr song. It allows the listener to take what we ver path they choose.

The problem with yours being light hearted, is it's not. It a direct, critical, biased, and targeted. Which is fine, but the music isnt

If you don't like the idea that's fine, it was good practice for me
