Brainstorm Media took the rights for the film and will release it domestically on March 27th, 2026, across theaters nationwide. Finally! I already got paid for the licensing over a year ago. Never heard of Brainstorm Media. I hope our local theaters show it. Here's the track they used - "A Hollywood Romance": http://schicksville.com/A%20Hollywood%20Romance.mp3

Your piano tracks always sound like they're toned down, like they're already in the background... Do you do that on purpose for placement?
I'm always trying to "brighten" the piano in my mixes...
I always have my recording level set at -07'. Guarantees no clipping and gives the project engineer a little headroom. And yes, it's not about my music, but rather how it works within the scene. Oh, and I do shade off some of the peaks to bring the overall volume level up. Anything to make the track more useable.

Finally released this movie. It's playing at Regal theaters. I'll probably wait until the DVD comes out (or played on Netflix, Amazon Prime, HBO - whatever). The nearest Regal theater to me is an hour drive. Too far for me to travel - ha, ha.

Congratulations John. I just received my three month statement from CCLI. Why is it a few songs earn much more than other songs. They are not my best songs from my point of view but churches are using them much more than other songs. Which goes to prove we are not the best judge of our own material, the public is.

Thanks Everett! Yes, you never know what songs will be used. Whether a song gets listened too is partly because of the title.

That piece has Hollywood all over it! Congrats. I have realy similar pieces I put into my Rom/Com folder for just this type of need. All of them have New York in them as it reminds me of their sound, which is exactly this. What is the technical name for this type of track?
